Principal Product Manager - Technical would be responsible for the following activities:Developing inspiring platform/product visions, derived from business needs, market opportunities, and technology trendsUsing the Working Backwards method, decomposes business requirements and customer experiences into features and functions that drive the platform/product roadmapWorks with Technical Program Managers, Developers, UX designers, and internal customers to define the details behind the business requirementsCollects and shares user stories with engineering teamsActs as the voice of the business customer and accountable for the platform servicesRole

Sets the vision and direction for the platform design of assigned productsExhibits expertise across multiple platform productsBuilds tight connections to resources to drive overall strategy and teams inside your organization while influencing those outside your organization to deliver the expected resultsIdentify short-and-medium-term risks to platform product development and segment adoption, while proposing solutions to address themContinuously monitors feature development and associated defects at the platform product levelUse data to make decisionsContinuously monitor and analyze key performance indicators on the organization’s score card and move them in a positive directionMakes trade-off decisions on multiple platform products in a portfolioUses runtime metrics of their services in market as a feedback loop in to the backlog and balances the priorities against new feature requestsManage escalations, assess the alternative to resolve (path to green) and builds a plan for resolutionOwn and deliver on post-launch reviews and customer feedback, drives the associated actions, and incorporates feedback into the future launch plansShares best practice with other Mastercard teamsEngages with business customers to identify key platform product issues; solicits feedback on platform product roadmapLeverages data analysis skills to research difficult or ambiguous problems, leading cross-disciplinary teams where necessary and communicating recommendations to senior leadershipOversees team-wide product operations, leads junior PM-Ts who may own individual components, and coordinates team-wide improvement goalsRepresents Mastercard with external stakeholders for escalations and during strategic roadmap discussionsDrives adoption of existing platform products into multiple marketplaces (in some cases simultaneously) with minimal engagement from leadershipIdentifies meaningful components of competitive analysis that informs decisions for the platform product portfolio and roadmapsIdentifies innovations and leads test and learn experiments that create platform products that increase customer value of the platform product roadmapParticipates in customer research with the business to gain end-to-end real-world understanding of customer needs and platform product valueAll About You

Experience building complex business and/or transactional models in a product line management, e-commerce, and/or strategic planning roleCan deliver high quality technology products/services in a high growth environment where priorities shift rapidlyAbility to use hard data and metrics to back up assumptions and develop business casesProven ability to lead in a matrix environmentDemonstrated ability to operate with complete independence and autonomyExperience and proficiency with cloud technologies (IaaS, PaaS, serverless technology, NoSQL databases), microservice design, near real-time, scalable fault tolerant platform design, API design, and distributed systems operations in a DevOps modelExperience with XP, TDD and BDD in the software development processesProven track record of data driven decision making and applying continuous improvement methodologies across teamsComprehensive experience in agile delivery methodologies (scrum, Kanban, etc.) and CI/CDCan communicate to executives, peers, and staff with impact, eloquence, and authenticityDemonstrated experience building relationships, partnering with and influencing executive leadership while commanding the respect of the individual engineers across the organizationDeep understanding of the platform, the integration patterns, the organizational capabilities, and the company wide assets that can be leveraged to provide technical solutions to customer problemsCorporate Security ResponsibilityAll activities involving access to Mastercard assets, information, and networks comes with an inherent risk to the organization and, therefore, it is expected that every person working for, or on behalf of, Mastercard is responsible for information security and must:Abide by Mastercard’s security policies and practices;Ensure the confidentiality and integrity of the information being accessed;Report any suspected information security violation or breach, andComplete all periodic mandatory security trainings in accordance with Mastercard’s guidelines.Pay RangesAtlanta, Georgia: $145,000 - $224,000 USDNew York City, New York: $174,000 - $269,000 USD
