Do you have operations management experience within surface mining? Do you have experience running multiple shovel fleets in large open pits? We are currently working with a global leader in the mining industry who operates in South America and are looking for a VP Operations to come in and manage their mining operations.Responsibilities
This is a succession planning role with the successful candidate to step into the COO/President position.The Vice President Operations will be responsible for the effective management of the company's South American mining operation.The role will involve a rotation from the US.Duties of the Vice President Operations include:Critically evaluating all existing mining, transportation and port operations and formulating operating plans to meet the long and short term objectives of the company.Maintaining management of operations through regular contact with environmental, engineering, construction and production.Optimising operational efficiency, establishing appropriate cost controls and maximising production.Recruiting and training capable management personnel to develop and maintain innovative operation strategies and programs.Qualifications
Bachelor's degree preferably in mining engineering or a closely related discipline.MBA degree is preferred.Minimum of 20 years operations management experience in mining at surface operations.Solid working knowledge of the commercial/financial aspects of mining operations including capital and operating budgets.If this is an opportunity you would like to discuss further or have anyone you can recommend, please get in contact.
