Job Overview

Lexia is seeking an experienced Product Manager for Voyager Sopris Learning products – a holistic suite of teacher-trusted interventions and formative assessments – who is passionate about joining a team dedicated to making a difference in the life of learners and educators. You will join a dynamic and fast-paced environment and work with cross-functional teams to design, build, maintain, and roll out products that deliver the company’s vision and strategy.

Job ResponsibilitiesDefine and execute short- and long-term product roadmap based on current and future customer needs, market insights, and company strategic initiatives.Plan and drive feedback gathering to inform ongoing prioritization. Meet with customers and other stakeholders to solicit product feedback. Collaborate with Research and other groups to plan and execute customer surveys, focus groups, and user testing.Review product feedback and market research. Articulate and prioritize needs and jobs to be done.Own and curate the product backlog and prioritize candidates for refinement, program increment planning, and release planning.Develop and maintain a solid understanding of the student and educator experience to inform prioritization efforts.Build and maintain awareness for and understanding of new product strategy and product releases across the organization.Work closely with cross-functional Engineering, Creative, and Curriculum teams throughout the development process.Collaborate with Project Manager and the cross-functional team to articulate needs, identify critical/MVP functionality, and translate business or user requirements to planning documents and specifications.Collaborate with the Project Manager to anticipate, communicate, and navigate risks and obstacles.Own the communication of product enhancements and new features to internal and external stakeholders. Collaborate with leaders in Education, Sales, Marketing, Success, and other departments to ensure a smooth rollout of updates.Collaborate with Product Marketing Manager to ensure that marketing plans are consistent with product roadmap and strategy and that the message is effectively conveyed.Monitor market trends and competition; assist sales and marketing teams with industry analysis.Collaborate with leaders in Project Management, Finance, and the cross-functional team throughout the project budgeting process.

Job RequirementsProven working experience with student-facing platforms and functionality.Ability to understand and help shape the “big picture” while communicating plans to execute on current product strategy.8+ years in product management, or a combination of product management and project management, on technology-based products in the K-12 education market.Skilled and experienced at managing complex aspects of a successful product throughout its life cycle.Demonstrated experience working with Education experts, Marketing, and Sales organizations on research and launch.Excellent relationship building and negotiating skills. Highly developed listening skills.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Proven ability to develop and communicate product roadmaps and recommendations to executive management.Skilled at working effectively with cross-functional teams in a matrix organization. Ability to work collaboratively with peers and executives across functions; facilitation experience.Passion for guiding others to collective success more than personal achievement. Ability to influence others without direct authority.Demonstrated ability to simultaneously manage multiple, critical projects.A Bachelor of Arts or Sciences Degree required, or equivalent experience. A Graduate Degree is preferred.
