Under the general supervision of the Recycling & Waste Reduction Coordinator, the incumbent will serve as a working lead of the Recycling and Waste Reduction Program. The lead may assume responsibility for the crew in the absence of a supervisor. This activity involves performing the work of the specialized field, assigning and monitoring work orders, ensuring completion and recording of work orders, explaining tasks to co-workers, assisting with training of co-workers, maintaining time and material records, and assisting with performance evaluations, as requested. The Lead will work closely with the Recycling Sorters and Recycling Specialist to ensure the daily tasks/projects are completed.Department Description

Ability to read, write, and perform basic arithmetic calculations; two years of experience in the performance of semi-skilled building maintenance work, or one year as a Senior Building Maintenance Worker; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.Proven skillfulness in leadership and problem-solving abilities.Proficient in basic computer skills and Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).Ability to function effectively in a team environment.Can work in inclement weather conditions when present.Demonstrates a professional attitude in the work environment.Valid CA Driver's License.Preferred Qualifications
University and/or Medical Center environment experience.2 years' experience in the Recycling field.Ability to diagnose large pieces of equipment (compactors, tippers, electrical carts, etc).License/Certification
