Research and develop tax positions for clients’ tax controversy casesEvaluate evidence, develop realistic evaluations of cases, and position our clients to prevail before federal and state tax authoritiesProvide analysis, guidance, and planning for various transactions including but not limited to mergers, acquisitions, and restructuringDevelop, evaluate, and implement defense strategies and represent clients in federal and state examinationsConsult on complex matters for domestic and international corporate clients as well as high net worth individualsDraft and prepare information for presentation to the federal and state authoritiesServe as the main point of contact between clients and taxing authoritiesProvide exceptional client service to internal and external stakeholdersQualifications
J.D. and LL.M. in Taxation, or equivalent experiencePractice or academic experience involving tax controversy and/or tax planningExperience working at an Accounting Firm, Law Firm, IRS chief counsel’s office, or as In-House Counsel (preferred)Outstanding verbal and written communication skillsCollaborative, self-motivated, competitive, and highly professional5%-15% travel requiredLocation: Houston, TX, with additional opportunities in Washington, DCDo Work That Matters. alliantgroup.
