Serving a growing state, the UT System Administration strives to provide a welcoming, supportive work environment that embraces different perspectives.Purpose of PositionThe Vice President is a senior leader that fosters continued improvement for all financial functions, including financial reporting, accounting, revenue management, budget and planning, audit, and accounts payable. Additionally, as a member of the leadership team, this individual will play an integral role in the development of a financial and operational strategy, metrics tied to that strategy, and the ongoing development and monitoring of control systems designed to maximize PUF resources and report accurate financial results.Essential Functions

Direct the development of the organization's overall financial policies and reporting formats and timelineOversee annual and long-term strategic planning and budgeting processesDirect the development of the organization's internal audit policies and structure, including look-backs and post auditsExtensive financial analysis and valuation modeling of proposed transactions. Responsible for planning and directing the design, development, and implementation of financial modelsProvide board-level materials and present financial reporting, as neededDevelop financial performance measures (key performance indicators) that support University Lands' strategic directionLead and mentor existing management team in continuous improvement initiativesPerform repeated and timely high-level budget-to-actual analysisAccountable for external auditing strategy and implementation with third party auditors and internal teamsReview and approve all internal and external audit requests, reports, and responsesSupervise commercial due diligence and participate in the negotiation process(es)Work directly with commercial, engineering, legal, and other key internal teams throughout transaction/project life cycleConduct research to support the development of investment strategies and to identify transaction/project opportunities. Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business, or closely related field from an accredited institutionMinimum of 10 years of financial management, financial planning and analysis, revenue management or other relevant experience in the Oil and Gas industryMust have demonstrated experience in planning, reporting, and analyticsPreferred Qualifications

Supervisory experience preferredWorking knowledge of University Lands' business practicesAdvanced degree preferred (MBA, masters)CPA preferredExperience working with executive leadershipExperience preparing board-level materialsKnowledge of Texas Railroad Commission Rules and RegulationsWorking Conditions

May work around standard office conditionsUses standard office equipmentRequires occasional evening or weekend hoursAdditional InformationThe standard retirement plan for this position is Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS), subject to the position being at least 20 hours per week and at least 135 days in length. However, the incumbent of this position may elect the Optional Retirement Program (ORP) subject to the position being 40 hours per week and at least 135 days in length. A background check will be conducted on applicants under final consideration.
