Description

PERSONAL PROPERTY INSPECTOR* (Auditor's Office): Under limited supervision, determines the taxability of properties, using methods such as field inspection and research. The administration functions include researching, inspecting and presenting recommendations for action. Serves as a subject matter expert in regards to ensuring that all personal property is being properly taxed in accordance with South Carolina Code of Law and Beaufort County Ordinances.

Typical Qualifications

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:• Associates degree in Business Administration or related field• Three (3) years of related work experience involving research, analyzing information and analytical thinking or an equivalent combination of education and experience• Excellent customer service and communication skills, including the ability to understand and explain the basic terms of state and local laws• Working knowledge of office technology and computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office products• Must possess and maintain a valid driver's licenseSupplemental Information

*This position serves at the pleasure of an elected official.

All applicants tentatively selected for a position with Beaufort County Council will be required to submit to urinalysis to screen for the illegal use of drugs and to a background check prior to appointment. Employment is contingent upon clearing both the drug screening and background investigation.
