Our Business Development Managers are responsible for generating new business and developing new clients for our Ōnin Staffing branch through direct client contact, cold calling, selling our temporary services, developing accounts, and driving results by maintaining key metric benchmarks set up by the sales team leaders. We are seeking candidates with a solid professional sales background as well as critical thinking, strong communication, resilience, and a winning attitude.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Market Strategy and Execution:
  • Quantify how to take our product to market.
  • Establish and execute a business development plan.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain effective strategies for company and personal financial growth.
  • Utilize strategic practices and market analysis to uncover revenue opportunities.
  • Target high-quality leads and leverage existing partnerships to build a robust prospect funnel.

Territory Management:
  • Focus on a specific territory to develop referrals and contacts.
  • Follow up on leads generated by marketing activities, including sales calls/visits.

Client Engagement and Relationship Building:
  • Build strong relationships with hiring managers and create business partnerships. Conduct office visits, presentations, and negotiations to build relationships.
  • Maintain a good call-to-close ratio.
  • Identify prospects that will benefit from doing business with The Onin Group.
  • Engage with decision makers at all levels during the buying process.
  • Maximize existing relationships by engaging clients as their primary touchpoint.

Consultative Sales and Account Management:
  • Diagnose workforce gaps limiting client potential.
  • Provide consultative account management, post-sales support, and consistent follow-up.
  • Negotiate pricing to ensure maximum return on quality solutions.
  • Provide services that consistently delight clients and talent.
  • Offer innovative and creative employment solutions.

Administrative Duties:
  • Responsible for increasing the number of qualified hiring contacts in the database.
  • Handle administrative tasks proficiently using office equipment such as computers, phones, and other communication devices.
  • Any other duties as assigned by Management.

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to travel frequently, including driving or flying, to meet with clients, attend conferences, and visit other business locations.
  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods during meetings, presentations, and desk work.
  • Ability to read and analyze written information and data on a computer screen.
  • Ability to speak clearly and listen attentively during in-person meetings, phone calls, and virtual conferences.
  • Ability to work in various environments, including office settings, client sites, and event venues.
  • Occasionally required to carry and lift materials such as laptops, presentation equipment, and promotional materials, typically up to 50 pounds.


PREFERRED SKILLS & ABILITIES:

Experience:
  • 2+ years of experience in sales, preferably business-to-business sales, outside sales, or the staffing industry.
  • Experience selling a service vs. a product.
  • Proven track record of delivering results in a metrics-driven environment.

Education:
  • Bachelor's degree preferred in business administration, management, finance, marketing, or a related field.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for client & candidate interaction, both in person and over the phone.

  • Willingness to adapt to changing market conditions and client needs.
  • Ability to read client orders and procedures.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to use data to make informed decisions, take direction, and execute a plan.
  • Fluent in sales language.
  • Ability to set and execute sales calls via telephone and in person.
  • Ability to translate sales reports, forecasts, and data into tangible information.
  • Agility to leverage all processes and technology tools productively.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, G Suite, and other relevant software applications.
  • Strong understanding of the light industrial sector (manufacturing, warehousing, logistics).
  • Familiarity with employment laws and regulations in the staffing industry.
