The ideal candidate will perform semi-skilled tasks in various trades. Specific duties will vary depending on the trade area assigned. In addition to supporting the department,

will also:Clean work areas, sweep, collect trash, move supplies and equipmentAssist other skilled craftsmen in performing routine repair and maintenance tasksPerform minor operation, maintenance, installation, and repair of HVAC, heating equipment, and plumbing.Perform preventive maintenance on equipment and systems assigned to HVAC and Heating.Transport raw materials and semi-finished products or supplies between departments or buildings.Perform minor welding repairs; operate power tools.Perform light carpentry work, such as building bookshelves, bookcases, etc.Mix and pour concrete for foundations and fixtures.Install, repair, and service motors, pumps, and fans.Operate heavy machinery, such as forklifts, tractors, etc.Perform other related duties as assigned.GEORGIA STATE UNIVERSITY VALUES

Minimum Requirements:Technical or vocational degree in plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, or electrical trade area; or a high school diploma or GED and one year experience in plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, or electrical trade area.A valid Georgia driver's license is required.Preferred Requirements:Knowledge of tools and equipment used in HVAC and heating.Knowledge of basic principles and practices of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, or other related trades.Ability to lift 50 lbs.Ability to perform strenuous manual tasks.Ability to operate hand tools and equipment used in HVAC, heating, and plumbing fields, such as jacks, meters, wrenches, etc.Salary:
