Our unparalleled product portfolio is the most robust in the industry and we have leadership positions across key taste, texture, scent, nutrition, enzymes, cultures, soy proteins and probiotics categories.The RoleAs a Scientist within the Scent Technology & Innovation team, you will work together with R&D, Perfumers, Operations and Commercial teams to create and deliver innovative technologies. You will be responsible for understanding how these technologies interact with fragrance ingredients and customer formulations in order to design and deliver fragrance solutions which will delight our consumers. You will be part of our Bell Works Home & Fabric Care Innovation team located in Holmdel NJ and will share our knowledge and learning with other teams globally. Key focus will be on Fabric Innovation projects leveraging and exploring new technologies into a variety of formulations.Key ResponsibilitiesDrive, plan, conduct and report laboratory work for innovation and commercial projectsDevelop and present technical information to support project decisionsWork with multi-disciplinary teams (R&D, Perfumers, Evaluators, Commercial, Operations) to identify and understand the risks and challengesSupport project teams to create technical insights using appropriate design of experimentsContribute positively to technical project teams, providing data & lab support to drive performanceProvide technical leaders and managers with timely and clear status updates on various initiatives and projectsDeliver improvements in processing techniques and innovation to deliver differentiating solutions for fabric and home care platformsSchedule and participate in fragrance evaluation panelsExecute stability testing to assess and develop performance understandingDevelop a network of colleagues within IFF to expand application & business knowledgeEnsure work is managed in a timely, reliable manner and uphold the highest standardsFollow and maintain safe laboratory practicesMaintain excellent awareness of the Fabric Care market and market productsProactively be involved in new initiativesSupport technology scouting IP/literature reviewJob RequirementsEssential SkillsExcellent lab skillsAgility and flexibility to changes in decisions and project directionsEfficient organization and time managementSummarizing data into actionable insightsProduct and application developmentProblem solving skillsCustomer focusedExcellent communication skills (written / verbal) with all levels of organizationCreative mindsetTeam playerAbility to work with multi-disciplinary teamObservant and detail orientedWork independently on projects without direct manager supervisionProficient in EnglishRequired ExperienceBachelor's degree / Master's degree in Chemistry, Polymer, Formulation, Chemical Engineering or related field3-5 years working experience in the industry or in comparable (consumer products)Strong understanding of consumer insights for fabric care applications is desiredGood understanding of chemical processing and formulations is desiredTechnical experience in the labs designing and executing experiments involving chemical reactions, formulations, analytical instrumentations and process equipmentKnowledgeable in lab safety, relevant application, raw materials and chemical processesProject management skillsIP contributions
