The Deputy Associate General Counsel, Pharmacy Law is responsible for serving as a subject matter expert in Legal on pharmacy law and regulation in connection with retail pharmacy and related new initiatives across the enterprise, including providing advice and counsel to the pharmacy services business areas, closely collaborating with compliance, regulatory affairs and government affairs, and further providing other support within the Legal department as assigned.

Responsibilities

Work directly and independently with pharmacy services business areas to provide advice, counsel and legal support related to pharmacy law and regulation matters in connection with retail pharmacy and related new initiatives across the enterprise;Provide legal advice, counsel and support related to the legal/regulatory requirements governing dispensing of controlled substances;Work collaboratively with other teams, including compliance, regulatory affairs and government affairs, in supporting business;Consult with the Deputy General Counsel on management of legal needs and requests for advice from business areas related to pharmacy services;Provide support as needed to contracting team related to pharmacy-related contracts;Assist in development and amendment of company processes, policies and procedures related to pharmacy initiatives as needed;Identify opportunities for business improvement and support or lead initiatives to implement such improvements;

Active license to practice law (as a member in good standing) in at least one, relevant U.S. state (Required)Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Exhibits strong leadership skills, outstanding interpersonal skills, a collaborative style, and experience successfully working across departmental lines to implement new policies, procedures and programs;Ability to exercise considerable judgment, maintain confidentiality, and act in a diplomatic manner;Superior interpersonal and presentation skills, with ability to communicate (both in writing and verbally) with internal and external clients at all levels;Ability to work extended hours, weekends, and holidays pursuant with industry demands;Work Experience

Required:

10 years of experience in a law firm as an attorney or in-house role advising on pharmacy law and regulations as to retail pharmacy and controlled substances.Range for this role: $145,150 to $210,470
