Employees must be able to report to the office when requested by management &/or for their initial job training.LEADERSHIP OPPORTUNITYWhat You'll Be DoingServing at the pleasure of the BWC Administrator, under administrative direction of BWC's Litigation Manager, this position will provide legal advice & assistance on labor & employment matters (e.g. advisory services to agency Equal Employment Opportunity [EEO] program [e.g. charges of discrimination, position statements, OCRC, EEOC hearings], Collective Bargaining issues). This position will also supervise staff under the Public Records & RIM units.Providing consultation regarding exempt discipline of BWC staff and legal support to ensure compliance with Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA) issues, Americans with Disabilities (ADA), Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), Age Discrimination in Employment Act (ADEA) & Title VII.Collaborating with Human Resources, Labor Relations, & other divisions to support compliance initiatives.Developing & conducting training on employment issues.Acting as Legal liaison to HR.Attending regularly scheduled HR/Labor/EEO meetings.Drafting memoranda in response to questions presented.Serves as a liaison to the Attorney General's Office on Employment matters.The ideal candidate for this position would have experience with cases involving employment matters subject to a broad range of laws such as the FMLA, ADA, ADEA, Title VII, and experience with an EEO Program (e.g., charges of discrimination, position statements, OCRC & EEOC matters), collective bargaining issues, and consultation regarding exempt discipline of agency staff.This position is unclassified pursuant to ORC 124.11(A)(9).This position is overtime exempt.What’s In It For YouAt the State of Ohio, we take care of the team that cares for Ohioans.
