Circadence has spent more than a decade working with the Joint Information Operations Range (JIOR) and Joint Mission Environment Test Capability (JMETC) Multiple Independent Levels of Security (MILS) Network (JMN), building cyber ranges and participating in T&E, exercises, and training events. JMN is part of the National Cyber Range Complex (NCRC). Research and development programs focus on tools and services to enhance cyber operations.

Job Description:

We seek a junior or mid-level software engineer responsible for supporting development efforts to build a modern distributed application that enables customized cyber range deployments using Ansible automation and virtualization technologies. You will work closely with a team of engineers to build a modern full-stack application that configures both virtual and simulated cyber-physical cyber ranges for DoD clients. Experience with software development and network/systems administration is required.

Responsibilities:

Designs and develops software applications.

Performs coding, debugging, testing, and troubleshooting throughout the application development process.

Evaluates, analyzes, and modifies moderately complex application programs.

Troubleshoots production problems related to software applications.

Addresses problems of systems integration, compatibility, and multiple platforms.

Works on most phases of applications programming activities.

Analyzes and resolves problems associated with applications.

Detects, diagnoses, and reports related problems.

Contributes to moderately complex aspects of a project.

Work is generally independent and collaborative in nature.

Skills And Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in computer science or computer engineering and 1 to 5 years of work-related experience.

High-level knowledge of software development to include agile software development practices; programming languages; operating systems; networks; enterprise and consumer IT concepts, architectures, and systems (compute, network, storage).

Programming experience in one or more of the following: C++, PowerShell, bash scripting, Python scripting, Java, Electron, React.js, Redux, Docker, Kubernetes, MongoDB, HTML, SQL, PLSQL, BASH, AngularJS, PHP, JavaScript, XML, JSON.

Experience with Linux-based operating systems.

Knowledge of networking protocols such as TCP/IP, HTTP, HTTPS, TFTP, DNS, FTP, etc.

Knowledge of one or more of the following: MySQL, MariaDB, MongoDB, PostgreSQL.

Knowledge of virtualization and containerization technologies such as VMWare, Docker, HyperV, Xen, Kubernetes, etc.

Experience working within an integrated development environment and using tools such as: Git, Jira, VSTS, SVN, and Redmine.

Experience in applying Lean software principles (Agile, Spiral, Waterfall).

Proficient understanding of client-side scripting and JavaScript frameworks.

Basic knowledge of node.js, express server-side web development.

Proficient understanding of web markup, including HTML5 and CSS3.

Strong understanding of asynchronous request handling, partial page updates, and AJAX.

Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git.

Experience developing unit tests and contributing to integration tests.

Ability to work effectively in a dynamic, team-oriented environment.

A self-motivated, proactive, results-oriented individual.

Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Experience with cyber testing or training to include knowledge of defensive and offensive cyber tools and tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTP) a plus.

Must be located at or near Orlando, FL, or be willing to relocate.

US Citizen/US Resident required, will need to pass comprehensive background check.

Current Secret clearance with the ability to obtain TS/SCI. Preferred candidates will have an active TS/SCI.
