Position Summary:Rutgers University- Newark (RU-N), an urban public research university and anchor institution, located in Newark, New Jersey, a city of promise is seeking a Budget Analyst III . Under the direction of the Director and Assistant Vice Chancellor – Budget, the Budget Analyst III will provide support and monitor budgets and actuals to assigned organizational units and will be involved in all aspects of the RU-N Budget Office's operation related to budget and fiscal responsibilities.

This position will be responsible for and not limited to the following:

Manage and monitor the Newark Chancellor account and provide monthly budget projections to the Director and to the SVC and AVC of Budget as requestedConduct advanced analysis of all budget/fiscal reporting submitted for review related to all major campus-wide budgetary functionsExpected to collaborate and provide day-to-day budget support to the Director and the Assistant Vice Chancellor for Budget while collaborating extensively on comprehensive and complex detailed impact and need analyses for RU-NServe as primary support for budget and financial policy for the allocations and campus-wide impact and will conduct research and recommendations for needs analyses including but not limited to state, auxiliary, grant administration, plant funds, designated, endowments, and restricted accountsMake recommendations on policies and procedures related to budgetary models and other initiatives with budgetary implications to the UniversityRepresent the Director on campus committees, sessions, and workshops, as necessaryServe as a collaborative partner to provide leadership and all RU-N stakeholders with problem-solving, training, and strategy regarding budget-related inquiriesMinimum Education and Experience:Requires a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience that demonstrates knowledge and understanding of generally accepted accounting and administrative principles and practices and university regulations governing accounting transactionsAlso requires a minimum of five (5) years' relevant experience in financial/accounting or auditing functionCity:
