POSITION SUMMARY

Global Product Manager
to join their group. The position will be responsible for managing Sony’s flow cytometry sorter product and consumables through the product lifecycle to maximize sales revenues, grow market share and user base, and deliver on profitability targets. The ideal candidate will possess an understanding of the research use of flow cytometers and cell sorting applications. In addition to technical knowledge, the person shall also have experience working for a Life Science research system supplier. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES This position will be part of the Global Marketing team supporting Sony Biotechnology product portfolio and report to the Global Associate Director of Marketing responsible for product development and commercialization of cell sorters. The primary focus of the role will be to drive outbound marketing efforts to accelerate market adoption of product into growth and emerging segments in all target geographies. This role will drive development of marketing and sales materials and customer communication to support the sorter portfolio, including creation and delivery of content related to product positioning and product training to Sales and Applications support teams. Responsibility will include development of customer-facing presentations and demonstration scripts and ensure technical accuracy of all customer-facing materials. A focus for this role is to actively build KOL/reference customer relationships, working with field team members. This role would support market research activities, activities at scientific conferences, and meet with customers directly to understand any product issues and customer preferences. This role would support keeping abreast of competitive activities and products and take ownership of competitive intelligence in their product area including monitoring pricing and profitability trends to manage product margins. They will work with product development teams and management for product enhancements to maintain competitiveness and grow share of sales. Up to 25% of domestic/international travel may be required. QUALIFICATIONS FOR POSITION Your qualifications and experience should include: An understanding of customers’ use of flow cytometers and familiarity with a wide range of scientific applications, most relevant to cell sorting. Minimum of 3 years’ experience in marketing/commercial environment or related field. An advanced degree in a scientific discipline or a Master’s Degree in Business Administration required. Must possess laboratory experience in the relevant field using flow cytometry. Must have demonstrated oral and written communications skills. Must possess knowledge of the core marketing responsibilities and business processes along with well-developed time management skills. Must have experience in content building related to sales meeting planning and tactical execution of external communication items. All candidates must be authorized to work in the USA.
