Division of Vocational Rehabilitation (DVR)

has an opening for a Rehabilitation Technician to join our team in SeaTac. In this role, you'll provide essential support to our Vocational Rehabilitation Counselors (VRCs) as they empower clients to overcome barriers and achieve fulfilling employment.As a Rehabilitation Technician, you'll be at the heart of our mission to

transform lives , helping to ensure that every client receives the guidance and resources they need to succeed. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to a supportive team environment while directly influencing positive outcomes for our community.Some of what you'll do:Conduct interviews with potential customers to explain VR programs and collect information to be used in eligibility determinationProcess application informationAssist VRCs in collecting diagnostic information to be used in determining eligibilityAssist VRCs in monitoring customer progress toward achieving employment goalsAssist VRCs and customers in gathering information needed to develop an Individual Plan for Employment, including assistance in contacting and selecting vendorsSchedule appointments for customers to meet with VRCs and assist VRCs in maintaining contact with customersRegister vendors that provide goods and services to DVR customersPrepare and process the Authorization for Purchase of customer goods and services/issue paymentsPrepare correspondence to customers, vendors, and othersMaintain electronic and paper case filesWho should apply:Those with two years of college-level coursework AND one year of experience providing direct services to clients in a non-retail environment.ORAdditional experience and education will substitute for the required education or experience.Additional skills and knowledge that are desired:Knowledge of available community resourcesFamiliarity with the needs and difficulties of people with disabilitiesEffective interviewing and presentation skillsExperience using Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Internet browsersRecord-keeping experience and ability to organize and track large volumes of caseload informationAbility to interact with demanding or difficult people while maintaining a cooperative and positive demeanorInterested?
