Job Summary

Designs, builds and deploys database tools using TABLEAU, COGNOS, SQL, and PLSQL developer data warehouse programs to provide multi-dimensional modeling. Gathers requirements, bridges technical capabilities/constraints with customer needs and recommends solutions and alternatives. Designs and writes program code. Liaison to IST throughout implementation deploys to internal customers, which includes all U.S. Market teams, as well as some Corporate Groups.Consults with internal customers, including Sales, Marketing, Distribution, Sales Force Communication and Education, and various corporate teams, to understand their business needs. Interviews internal customers, identifies needs, provides ideas for useful reports and solutions, and ultimately delivers the solutions in a reasonable time frame. Must be able to “think outside the box” formulating original ideas when solving complex issues or when providing solutions to business requirements. Must be able to determine needs beyond those requested. Approaches situations from the business user perspective and understanding of business importance or value while leveraging technology to analyze, simplify, accelerate, streamline, or automate the business process. Determines areas to provide efficiencies in customer processes and uses latest technologies to improve processes.Creates data models and user interfaces that provide the internal customer multidimensional modeling tools. These tools allow internal customers to model sales force demographics, production, and more, helping them make informed decisions regarding sales force promotions, events, compensation, etc. Designs, builds, and deploys database tools using TABLEAU, COGNOS, SQL and PLSQL Developer. Research multiple technical solutions in order to determine optimum solution. Must understand the Mary Kay sales force demographics, compensation plans, sales force levels, and promotions to complete data modeling. Stays current with new releases of technical tools and keeps abreast of other data modeling tools. Must have a wide and deep knowledge of a particular function area in an application, system, or other technology.Works closely with IST to keep current with the most up-to-date changes in technology. Partners with IST to ensure the U.S. Sales division is involved in projects and/or programs that affect the independent sales force.Participates in assimilation program for the international markets. Meets with participants and shares crucial information about the role.This job requires on-site work at a Mary Kay facility.Skills & Experience

Experience: 3+ years of extensive technical and practical experience, including extensive knowledge of data warehousing, report development and data analysis and relational database design (normalized and dimensional) is required. Most recent 2-3 years of experience in project lead related work with a proven track record of consistently delivering projects as a Project Leader or a Project Manager.Education: Bachelor/University Degree in business or technology area or equivalent applicable experience.Additional Skills & Abilities

3+ years' experience TABLEAU, COGNOS. High proficiency in all COGNOS Toolset, Oracle SQL Queries, Microsoft SQL Queries, Microsoft Excel.3+ years' experience training business users for ad-hoc reporting and other tools.3+ years' experience dimensional modeling, the Kimball Business Intelligence (Data Warehouse) methodologies and ETL best practices.Solid knowledge of software development, software deployment and post deployment software support processes are required.Must be self-motivated and use business expertise to originate new ideas to solve business problems. Must approach situations from the business user perspective, gaining an understanding of business importance or value and leveraging technology to automate, simplify, accelerate or streamline business process.Must be highly motivated with excellent analytical skills and possess excellent time management skills, a sense of urgency and be dedicated to completing tasks on schedule.Must have a thorough understanding of or be able to demonstrate the ability to quickly learn the intricate details of the independent sales force career path and compensation programs.Must have two-way communications skills that enable the incumbent to decipher and interpret user requests versus actual needs and to gather requirements. Requires the ability to communicate data, information and solutions in such a way that the extensive information is easily understood and conveyed into actionable items that will directly and positively impact sales, team building, retention and independent sales force career development. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required to communicate findings to all levels of employees including senior-level management.
