Join a Reinsurance Center of Excellence and contribute to our Contracts team!HSB is currently seeking a Senior Reinsurance Contracts Specialist. As a Senior Reinsurance Contracts Specialist, you will be responsible for the following:Negotiate, formalize, and document assumed reinsurance contracts and other legal documents for all lines of business between HSB and assigned client companies in compliance with internal standards and processes.Lead contract negotiations with assigned client companies and act as a contract subject matter expert.Advocate for HSB’s position, provide contract interpretations, and develop solutions to contract-related issues.QualificationsEducation and Experience:Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.Advanced degree or professional designation in Insurance is a plus.5+ years experience drafting and negotiating assumed or ceded reinsurance contracts is preferred.Previous experience with contracts or some training in contract law.Experience working in a team environment.Experience with rating, rules, and primary coverage forms is preferred.Experience partnering with IT to manage or support system implementations is a plus.Experience with operational process design and implementation is a plus.Knowledge and Skills:Knowledge of insurance and reinsurance coverages (equipment breakdown, property, cyber, EPL).Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).Knowledge of HSB proprietary systems is a plus.Strong interpersonal skills.At The Hartford Steam Boiler, a subsidiary of Munich Re, we see Diversity and Inclusion as a solution to the challenges and opportunities all around us.
