Position Summary

The HR Generalist will be responsible for overseeing the entire HR function for the company. This includes recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, performance management, benefits administration, compliance, and maintaining strong vendor relationships. The ideal candidate will be a proactive, organized, and detail-oriented professional who can handle multiple HR tasks with ease and provide exceptional support to our employees and management team.

Key Responsibilities

Recruitment and Onboarding:Manage the full-cycle recruitment process, including job postings, screening, interviewing, and hiring.Coordinate new employee and onboarding processes to ensure a smooth integration into the company.

Employee Relations:Act as a point of contact for employee concerns and inquiries, providing guidance and support.Foster a positive work environment through conflict resolution, employee engagement initiatives, and regular communication.

Performance Management:Assist in the development and implementation of performance management systems.Support managers in conducting performance reviews and setting employee development plans.

Benefits Administration:Administer employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other perks.Serve as the primary liaison between employees and benefits providers to resolve issues and answer questions.

Compliance:Ensure company compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.Maintain accurate and confidential employee records and HR documentation.

Vendor Relationship Management:Manage relationships with external HR vendors and service providers, including benefits brokers, payroll providers, and recruitment agencies.Evaluate vendor performance and negotiate contracts to ensure cost-effective and high-quality services.

Union Relations:Collaborate with union representatives and manage union-related issues, including contract negotiations and grievance resolution.Ensure compliance with collective bargaining agreements and labor laws.

HR Policies and Procedures:Develop, update, and enforce HR policies and procedures in line with best practices and legal requirements.Conduct training sessions for employees on HR policies, benefits, and compliance issues.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field.3+ years of experience in a generalist HR role, preferably in a small to mid-sized company.Strong knowledge of HR principles, practices, and employment laws.Experience working with unions and managing union-related matters.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.Proven ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.Proficiency with HR software and Microsoft Office Suite.Certification in HR (e.g., PHR, SHRM-CP) is a plus.What We Offer
