Position Summary
ProStar Energy Solutions, a Crete United company is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Accounting Manager to join our dynamic accounting team in a fast-growing organization. The candidate is required to have a strong technical accounting skillset with a focus on revenue recognition (ASC 606), Business Combination (ASC 805) and Leases (ASC 842). This role will require someone who can support both high-level complex accounting and finance responsibilities as well as having a hands-on approach on a day-to-day basis. This role will have direct reports and will liaison with the operation managers.

Key Deliverables
- Manage the month-end close process
- Maintains GAAP-compliant financials for external reporting purposes, and prepares monthly financial statements (Balance Sheet, Income Statement, Statement of Cashflows)
- Leverage QuickBooks, Bill.com and other tools to extract, transform, and deliver financial data for reporting and reconciliations.
- Demonstrates a minimum skillset in tax, with the ability to research and navigate tax compliance inquiries and achieve deadlines.
Position Responsibilities
- Develop and mentor direct reports with focus on growth.
- Review and approve of all journal entries and reconciliations.
- Review and analyze transactional accounting activities to ensure accuracy and adherence to GAAP, while identifying areas for process improvement to streamline transactional accounting functions.
- Research and document technical accounting topics as they arise, this will include revenue recognition ASC 606.
- Identify, implement, and improve processes and procedures and they relate to all financial statement line items.
- Liaison with the operational team responsible for each revenue stream to ensure revenue and cost is appropriately recorded in the correct period.
- Identify opportunities to enhance efficiency in accounting processes, leveraging Power Query and automation tools where applicable for reporting and reconciliations.
- Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to assist in adherence to accounting processes.
Position Requirements
Minimum
- 6 years of accounting experience with a focus on technical skills
- 2+ years of experience in an Accounting Manager or similar role
- Actively pursuing a CPA
- Exceptional communication and leadership skills
- Outstanding analytical, critical thinking, and decision-making skills
- Power Query experience preferred.
- Knowledge of ASC 606, ASC 805, ASC 842
- An ownership mindset with a high degree of accountability for accuracy and meeting deadlines
- Detailed-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy, completion, and compliance
