Job DescriptionCDL B Driver
The crew person will operate designated equipment in the application of thermoplastic, and pavement markers to pavement. This is a skilled job requiring training, experience and knowledge of specifications, tolerances, rates of application and other technical tasks. Training new crew members will also be a shared responsibility on the job.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Function A: Operate Designated Equipment:- Thermoplastic Extrude/Spray Trucks.
- Thermoplastic Handliners.
- Thermoplastic Melter Kettles.
- Bituminous/Puddle Trucks
- RPM Placement/Knock Up Vehicles
- Grinding/Removal Machines.
- Back-Up Driving.
Function B: Maintain Quality Control of Work:- Be familiar with layout procedures in accordance with plans and specifications governing job.
- Maintain constant observation of the quality and the quantity of work being done.
- Make any needed adjustments in the application to control both quality and quantity of work.
- Report any information concerning the quality of work being done to the Foreman.
Function C: Drive Trucks and Practice Good Preventive Maintenance on All Trucks and Equipment Assigned- Must have a valid FLORIDA driver's license with proper classification for truck being driven.- We fall under the Federal Motor Carrier Compliance due to our commercial vehicles and to our transportation of employees, material and vehicles on roadways; city, county and state, intrastate and interstate. As such, our employees are also under the regulations and rules of the Federal Motor Carrier Compliance.- Observe all company safety policies when driving company vehicles.- Inspect all equipment at the beginning of each work period to insure that it is in proper working condition.
Follow company and state guidelines for effective, safe well managed work zones.Wear all required safety equipment.Other equipment may be needed.WORKING ENVIRONMENT
This position will be based in Plant City, FL. Travel required.
Regularly exposed to outside weather conditions; moving equipment and machinery parts; moving traffic, and fumes and airborne particles.Dealing with traveling public effectively.Noise level of the work environment is usually moderate/loud.Regularly required to stand/walk; reach with hands and arms.Occasionally lift and/or move lift and move up to 50 pounds.Please see HR for information on physical demands and work environment of this job.

Requirements
CDL Class B1 - 2 years of experience necessary for entry level positionsExcellent attendance required, dependable transportation, good work ethic.Maintain a valid driver's license and safe driving record.Successfully pass a background/ drug screen and meet Federal DOT requirements.Awareness of the occupational hazards associated with roadway work.Ability to be a vital part of our TEAM.Responsibility for performing tasks individually when required.Must be able to stand for long periods of time.Knowledge of the traffic control industry with prior traffic control or road construction experience preferred.Benefits
