Under the immediate direction of the Foreman, this position is responsible for the preparation and execution of striping for traffic control, installing signs and applying parking lot seal coat. This position will be part of a team that works on highway, surface street, or parking lot-based projects.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Follow company and state guidelines for effective, safe well managed work zones.Wear all required safety equipmentCleaning and prepping asphalt before applying materialsClean & prep workSafely handle heavy striping equipmentSafely handle hot thermoplastic striping materialsProperly follow direction given by foremanGood communication skills and ability to work well with a teamMust be able to travelMust have dependable transportation to and from workMust reflect a clean driving record- see qualificationsMust be able to work overtime, days, and nightsMust be able to lift 50 lbs.QUALIFICATIONS:
No experience necessary for entry level positionsKnowledge of the traffic control industry with prior traffic control or road construction experience preferredExcellent attendance required, dependable transportation, good work ethicDriver's License is required.Successfully pass a background/ drug screen and meet Federal DOT requirementsAwareness of the occupational hazards associated with roadway workAbility to be a vital part of our TEAMResponsibility for performing tasks individually when requiredMust be able to stand for long periods of timeDESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Previous experience in Highway Construction environment preferred.WORKING ENVIRONMENT
This position will be based in Norfolk, VA. Travel required.
