A law firm in Exton, PA is seeking an Intellectual Property Income Partner with extensive experience in global patent prosecution and opinion work, specifically within the life sciences sector. The successful candidate will have a strong background in biotech and pharma, and will be adept in all aspects of patent prosecution and counseling. This role demands superior academic credentials, exceptional writing and oral communication skills, and a demonstrated ability to manage complex intellectual property matters.Duties and Responsibilities:Oversee and manage global patent prosecution efforts with a focus on life sciences and biotech.Provide expert legal opinions on patent validity, infringement, freedom-to-operate, and other IP matters.Handle licensing agreements and other contractual work related to intellectual property.Develop and execute strategic IP portfolios for clients, particularly in biotech and pharma.Advise clients on IP strategy, including risk management and commercialization.Represent clients in negotiations, disputes, and litigation involving intellectual property.Build and maintain client relationships, leveraging existing portable business as an advantage.Mentor junior attorneys and support staff, offering guidance on complex IP issues.Stay informed about trends and developments in intellectual property law and life sciences.Requirements:Juris Doctorate (JD) from an accredited law school.Admission to practice law in the state.PhD in biological sciences is preferred.10+ years of experience in intellectual property law, with a focus on life sciences and biotech.Proven expertise in global patent prosecution, counseling, and licensing.Small amount of portable business is a plus.Education:Juris Doctorate (JD) required.PhD in biological sciences preferred.Certifications:Licensed to practice law in the state.Skills:Superior academic record with exceptional written and oral communication skills.Extensive knowledge of patent prosecution and intellectual property counseling.Strong background in life sciences, particularly biotech.Experience with pharma and biotech industries preferred.Proven ability to manage complex IP portfolios and provide strategic counsel.Effective negotiation and client management abilities.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
