A law firm in Miami, FL is seeking an Intellectual Property Income Partner with extensive experience in global patent prosecution and opinion work within the life sciences sector. The ideal candidate will have a robust background in biotech and pharma, demonstrating a comprehensive understanding of patent prosecution and counseling. This role requires superior academic credentials, exceptional communication skills, and a proven ability to manage complex intellectual property matters.Duties and Responsibilities:Manage and oversee global patent prosecution activities, with a focus on life sciences and biotech.Provide expert legal opinions on patent-related matters including validity, infringement, and freedom-to-operate.Handle all aspects of patent counseling, including licensing agreements and negotiation of IP-related contracts.Develop and implement strategic IP portfolios tailored to clients in the biotech and pharmaceutical industries.Advise clients on intellectual property strategy, risk management, and commercialization efforts.Represent clients in IP negotiations, disputes, and litigation, ensuring effective advocacy and resolution.Build and maintain strong client relationships, utilizing any existing portable business as an advantage.Mentor junior attorneys and support staff, offering guidance on complex IP issues and strategic planning.Stay informed on trends and developments in intellectual property law, as well as advancements in life sciences.Requirements:Juris Doctorate (JD) from an accredited law school.Licensed to practice law in the state of Florida.PhD in biological sciences preferred.Minimum of 10 years of experience in intellectual property law, with a focus on life sciences and biotech.Proven expertise in global patent prosecution, patent counseling, and licensing.Small amount of portable business is a plus.Education:Juris Doctorate (JD) required.PhD in biological sciences preferred.Certifications:Licensed to practice law in the state of Florida.Skills:Superior academic record and excellent written and oral communication skills.In-depth knowledge of patent prosecution, intellectual property counseling, and licensing.Strong background in life sciences, particularly in biotech.Experience with pharma and biotech industries is preferred.Proven ability to manage complex IP portfolios and provide strategic counsel.Effective negotiation and client management skills.Strong analytical, problem-solving, and strategic planning abilities.
