Sr. Pre-Award Grant Administrator

reports directly to their Cluster Research Administrator. The Sr. Pre-Award Grant Administrator works closely with the Pre-Award Grant Administrator, with other staff members in their cluster, across the Post-Award Grant Administrator roles within JORA, and other collaborating offices to ensure that awards are complete, accurate and in compliance with sponsor and institutional regulations, policies and guidelines. Additional duties include, but are not limited to:Award Review, Negotiation and Set upReviews, negotiates and executes extramural awards.Serves as the liaison and interacts directly with external sponsors.Sets up the award in Georgetown's financial system (GMS), and maintains the award in the system throughout the life cycle, including modifications and close out.Completes the 'Award Set Up' process in the internal routing system, GU-Pass.Serves as the subject matter expert for complex awards within the cluster, such as program projects and training grants.Proposal SubmissionCompletes the review and execution of external proposals, and works with other Georgetown offices if needed to ensure the budgets and administrative documents are compliant with federal and sponsor guidelines.Submits external proposals through sponsor systems, such as ASSIST, grants.gov, ProposalCentral, and any other sponsor portals.Works with the Proposal Specialist, as needed, to create eRA Commons accounts.Subaward Set UpReceives subaward requests from CRA and/or Post-Award Grant Admin within the cluster, and reviews the award and documentation submitted to ensure the request is in compliance with the award.Required and QualificationsBachelor's degree5 to 7 years of progressively responsible experience in a university or other non-profit grants management roleKnowledge of NIH funding mechanisms, including R01, P01, P30, T32 and foundation proposalsFlexible and adaptable to accommodate ongoing changes to internal and external policiesDemonstrated financial accounting skills to enable financial and programmatic report production, and should include a high level of proficiency in ExcelProven experience with financial systems, accounting, and cost accounting standards as they pertain to grants and contracts managementSkill in fostering a collaborative, customer-oriented working environment where there are multiple customers with competing prioritiesProfessional communication style, with an ability to work with external sponsorsPreferred QualificationsCertified Research Administration (CRA), Certified PreAward Research Administration (CPRA) and/or Certified Financial Research Administration (CFRA)Familiarity with WorkdayMaster's DegreeTeleworkThis position has been designated as
