Pay Range

$98,610 - $151,932 Annually

$98,610 - $126,636 Annually for the TSS.1 level

$118,290 - $151,932 Annually for the TSS.2 level

Please note that the pay range information is a general guideline only. Many factors are taken into consideration when setting starting pay including education, experience, the external labor market, and internal equity.

Job Description

We have an opening for a

Nuclear Materials Integration Data Analyst . You will derive, develop, and analyze large data sets associated with complex cross-organizational endeavors, involving programmatic projects, equipment capitalization, resource and special nuclear materials management to support weapons missions and capabilities. You will be responsible for interfacing with a broad range of internal stakeholders, principal investigators, program element managers, engineers and scientists and materials controls & accountability specialists to manage database requirements. This position is in the Defense Technologies Engineering Division within the Engineering Directorate and supports the Nuclear Materials Section within Weapons Technologies Engineering Division in the Strategic Deterrence Directorate.

Depending on your assignment, this position may offer a hybrid schedule, blending in-person and virtual presence. You may have the flexibility to work from home one or more days per week.

This position will be filled at either level based on knowledge and related experience as assessed by the hiring team. Additional job responsibilities (outlined below) will be assigned if hired at the higher level.

You will

Integrate schedule, resource requirements, and project development updates, including all points in design and execution within the Nuclear Materials programmatic operations element within LLNL’s Superblock and Nevada National Security Site (NNSS) Device Assembly Facility (DAF).

Use current project management methods and tools to develop analytics and reporting criteria to ensure successful programmatic project execution, including improving internal processes, reviewing status of projects, and preparing status reports and other documentation.

Analyze the integrated material plan for nuclear materials, ensuring both program element and LLNL maintains regulatory compliance for nuclear material roll-up.

Contribute to the resolution of problems, provide solutions using standard techniques and methodologies, and participate in the presentation of recommendations and results.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Additional Job Responsibilities, At The TSS.2 Level

Develop data analysis methodologies to inform executability risks to Nuclear Materials Associate Program Leaders on current and proposed projects/experiments.

Develop database and analysis tools for Nuclear Materials programmatic equipment maintenance, including generation of reports and metrics as required.

Develop, review, and analyze tools and models with program element stakeholders to inform integrated mitigation strategies efficacy, recommend changes to project scope and/or delivery, and provide and implement solutions when projects experience delays.

Qualifications

Ability to secure and maintain a U.S. DOE Q-level security clearance which requires U.S. citizenship.

Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, Physics, Engineering, or related technical field or the equivalent combination of education and previous relevant experience.

Process development experience, including ability to detail process maps using mapping software, identify roles, responsibilities, and key metric points, and evaluating metrics to identify bottlenecks and propose process changes.

Strong communication, facilitation, and collaboration skills necessary to present, explain, and advise senior management.

Ability to build and maintain successful and effective working relationships with a broad cross-section of organization, technical and administrative personnel.

Experience working independently and responsively to changing priorities.

Additional Qualifications At The TSS.2 Level

Experience in development of new processes and software tools to evaluate system performance.

Broad coding experience for applications Python, SQL, Linux, MATLAB and application software such as JIRA, Tableau.

Experience participating in recurrent project reviews and utilizing and integrating project controls methods and under dynamic conditions.

Qualifications We Desire

Knowledge and experience of nuclear materials operations, including requirements associated with material control & accountability.

Security Clearance
