A law firm in Chicago, IL, is seeking a Corporate Associate Attorney - Tax to join their cross-office tax and corporate transactional teams. The successful candidate will have at least 2 years of experience in U.S. federal income tax matters, backed by excellent academic credentials and strong written and oral communication skills.Duties and ResponsibilitiesCollaborate with cross-office tax and corporate transactional teams to deliver integrated legal support.Provide expert legal advice on U.S. federal income tax matters related to corporate transactions.Draft, review, and negotiate complex tax-related agreements and documents.Conduct comprehensive tax research and analysis to inform corporate strategies and ensure compliance.Structure transactions to optimize tax efficiency and adhere to federal regulations.Manage client relationships, offering clear and effective communication regarding tax issues.Stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations, advising clients on their implications.Participate in strategic discussions and planning for tax and corporate matters.RequirementsMinimum of 2 years of experience in a law firm focusing on U.S. federal income tax matters.Strong academic background with a JD from an accredited law school.Proven experience handling complex tax-related legal issues and corporate transactions.Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.High attention to detail and strong analytical skills.EducationJuris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.CertificationsAdmission to the Illinois Bar (or eligibility to obtain admission).Certification or specialization in tax law is preferred but not required.SkillsIn-depth knowledge of U.S. federal income tax laws and regulations.Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills.Strong drafting and negotiation abilities.Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.Proficiency in legal research tools and tax software.Benefits OfferedProductivity and discretionary bonuses.Comprehensive life, health, accident, and disability insurance.401(k) plan with firm contributions.
