ATI is the world-leading engineering-based developer of robotic accessories and robot arm tooling, including Automatic Tool Changers, Multi-Axis Force/Torque Sensing Systems, Utility Couplers, Material Removal Tools, Robotic Collision Sensors, Manual Tool Changers, and Compliance Devices. Since 1989, our team of mechanical, electrical, and software engineers has been developing cost-effective, state-of-the-art end-effector products and solutions that improve robotic productivity.The Electronic/Mechanical Technician is a hands-on position that supports ATI product evaluation, testing, and provides electrical/mechanical support. Ideal for a highly motivated, technically oriented included individual, this position is responsible for evaluating ATI product (Tool Changers, Complex Electrical Modules, Collision Sensors, Material Removal, Force Torque Sensors, etc.) through the use of standard and custom test equipment (torque testers, specific product test equipment, etc.). The successful candidate will clearly document evaluation results timely, with accuracy and confidence.ResponsibilitiesFollow a standard operating procedure for receiving ATI product via RMA (Return Material Authorization) system.Responsible for RMA activities related to complex electronic, mechanical, and Force Torque product lines.Produce evaluation reports that clearly document and communicate the test results, for use with internal and external customersPerform precision measurements on product using with calipers, height gauges, micrometers, and other devices.Follow the required protocol for testing to industry (ISO, etc.), customer or internal standards for ATI mechanical parts.QualificationsAA/AS Degree in Electronics, Electro/Mechanical or equivalent technical training or work related experience.Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.Able to read schematics, mechanical drawings and wire diagramsExperience handling PCBA's with Excellent Soldering skills. ESD awareness and able to comply.Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) and able to write clear and accurate test reports.Strong verbal and written communication skills required as this position will have frequent interactions with internal colleagues from Engineering, Sales, Quality and Marketing.Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs. as needed.Position may require some over-time.Novanta is proud to be an equal employment opportunity and affirmative action workplace.
