6 months temp-to-hireSUMMARY:We are seeking a skilled and experienced Assembler/Technician to join our team. The Manufacturing Assembler / Technician role will assemble or create sub-assemblies of electronic components and final products. The ideal candidate is experienced, has excellent communication skills, energetic, and reliable. Understand the importance of working in a team environment but can also work independently with little supervision. Must have a sense of urgency in completing tasks.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Use hand tools to perform a wide variety of electronic or electro-mechanical assembly operations on assemblies or sub-assemblies.Produce quality work to prescribed standards, focusing on continuous improvement to meet customer commitments on schedule and within budget.Determine and/or follow methods and sequence of operations in performing wiring, component installation, hand soldering and cable harnessing, and fitting on assembly units.Perform highly complex electrical assemblies, reading work orders, following production drawings and sample assemblies, or receiving verbal/written instructions with minimal supervision.Position and align parts in specified relationship to each other in jig, fixture, or other holding device. Crimp, screw, bolt, solder, press fit, or perform similar operations to join or secure parts in place, using hand tools, power tools, machines, and equipment.Mount assembled components, such as resistors, transistors, capacitors, integrated circuits, and sockets, on chassis panel.Perform on-line go-not-go testing and inspection, using magnifying devices, measuring instruments, and electronic test equipment, to ensure parts and assemblies meet production specifications and standards.Perform inspections of electrical assemblies to ensure they match assembly drawing, schematic, and work instructions.Incorporate problem-solving and process improvements into workflow.Conduct quality inspections on processing line in accordance with quality specifications.Disassemble, modify, rework, and reassemble assemblies and subassemblies according to specifications.Interpret CAD drawings and instructions and follow established procedures.Perform moderate to semi-complex assembly/test functions utilizing mechanical skills, hand and power tools, mechanical/electronic tools, test equipment, assembly fixtures, and inspection measurement equipment in a manufacturing environment.Verify accuracy of test stand and set-up prior to testing and make necessary adjustments to attain specified test results.Troubleshoot and rework malfunctions disclosed by test data.Interface with manufacturing engineering and production control to relay product problems and progress of work.Ensure all equipment is calibrated in accordance with calibration schedule.Perform required acceptance testing in accordance with approved Acceptance Test Procedures or other engineering documents with Engineering assistance, if necessary.SKILLS / QUALIFICATIONS:At least 3-5 years electrical assembly or electrical technician experience or a combination of electrical assembly experience.Strong ability to read schematics and wiring diagrams.Prior hands-on experience assembling electrical equipment.Ability to use hand and power tools.Strong verbal and written communication skills.Ability to lift 50lbs and stand for long periods of time.Must maintain a safe work environment by adhering to all safety procedures including those which govern the handling of materials, chemicals, tools, and equipment.Able to effectively communicate with other functional departments, such as Engineering, Purchasing, Manufacturing, Quality, and Sales departments.Possess effective organization and time management skills, be detail oriented, use good judgment, manage competing priorities for multiple projects and consistently meet all deadlines.Reliable attendance and punctuality.Other Duties: As needed, perform additional duties and tasks as assigned by your supervisor or manager.DESIRED SKILLS:Experience with electrical assembly equipment.Ability to adapt to changing project requirements and deadlines.Fine soldering and cable assembly.Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality.Fluent in reading electrical schematics and assembly drawing.EOE-Females/Minorities/Protected Veterans/Individuals with DisabilitiesOur ValuesWe are proud to say we are an equal opportunity employer and welcome all applicants for employment without attention to any factor that doesn’t impact your ability to do the job, including race, colour, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, veteran or disability status.
