DescriptionCSPNJ, a mental health nonprofit agency, is looking for an

OVERNIGHT (4pm - 7am) Team Leader . Under the Deputy Director of Homelessness, the

Team Leader

will oversee and assist the Outreach Workers with providing comprehensive support to finding and identifying unsheltered homeless individuals through direct street outreach activities in the City of Newark. The focus of this work is to connect clients with resources and services to assist them in stabilizing their homeless, mental health and primary health situations.

90% of time will be spent out in the community engaging unhoused individuals.HIGHLIGHTSSupervise a team of Outreach Workers who utilize harm reduction and housing first approaches when conducting street outreach and engage with individuals to determine homelessness history, services needed, and appropriate placement optionsConduct comprehensive assessments of the individual’s needs, including health, emotional, social, and environmental factors.Conduct crisis intervention as necessary and connect individuals with appropriate emergency services.Responsible for gaining a holistic understanding of the homeless population in their catchment areas and works in collaboration with the community and other partners to implement appropriate housing and service solutionsProvide policy and operational support/guidance and help develop strategies for improving service delivery within the assigned location.Participate in community outreach and education efforts to raise awareness of homelessness and services.Benefit Eligible (Medical, free DMO dental & free vision) including 6 weeks PTO & 11 HolidaysRequirementsHigh School Diploma / GED with equivalent work experience.2+ years in a supervisory position.Knowledge of

HMIS

software a plus!Knowledge of poverty and homelessness causes, trends, issues and solutions.Detail oriented with strong organizational and time management skills.Strong judgment and problem-solving abilities to work with citizens, businesses, and others in emotional/stressful situations.Strong expertise in strengths-based, solution-focused practice.Strong verbal and written communication skills.Knowledge and experience working with diverse cultures and ethnicities.Proficient in MS Office products, as well as general computer literacy.Ability to work with individuals with mental illness in a caring and professional manner.Bilingual skills are a plus.Valid NJ Driver’s License with acceptable driving record.Lived Experience: CSPNJ prioritizes hiring people who use their own life experience dealing with mental health/substance use issues to inspire and support others.PM22
