POSITION SUMMARY STATEMENT

The Director, IS Training collaborates with all IS departments in the planning, coordination and execution of professional training programs including but not limited to:

Case Management Certificate Program

Neighbors United University

ALICE@Work

Workforce Leadership Academy

This position establishes processes and strategies, manages and adjusts existing programs, identifies strategic partnerships and additional learning opportunities that elevate the quality of the course work presented. The Director creates and maintains a division-wide calendar of external learning opportunities for program participants. Develops a toolkit for staff to create workshops, training courses and curricula, lesson plan templates, and best practice guides. Budget management of all training programs is an essential responsibility.

LOGISTICAL MANAGEMENT (15%)

Establish partnerships and relationships with community organizations with expertise in specific content areas needed to provide meaningful learning opportunities for program participants

Maintain a roster of external vendors to provide content-specific workshops and training opportunities for partners and residents

Coordinate training space, retreat locations and all elements appropriate for special events

Manage travel arrangements for out-of-town guest faculty as needed

Manage all details of any virtual learning activities (outlook invites to participants, scheduling zoom rooms, etc.)

Provide resources/referrals to assist program participants in any required assignments

NEIGHBORS UNITED UNIVERSITY (25%)

Coordinate the creation of Neighbors United University (NUU) curriculum, in partnership with internal & external stakeholders

Manage recruitment, enrollment and onboarding for the program

Co-facilitate NUU sessions in partnership with Senior Director, Neighbors United and internal & external stakeholders

Support Senior Director, Neighbors United in maintaining regular, effective communication with NUU participants

Support the Senior Director, Neighbors United in assessing the learning and satisfaction with the NUU program

Coordinate all logistical and scheduling aspects of the program

WORKFORCE LEADERSHIP ACADEMY (35%)

Manage recruitment, selection, announcements and onboarding processes for WLA cohorts

Develop selection criteria, recruitment, and ongoing engagement with the WLA Advisory Council

Primary Academy facilitator in coordination with identified co-facilitator

Identify Academy curriculum priorities, guest faculty, experiential opportunities and schedule for the training year

Provide ongoing evaluation and feedback tools for Fellows and Advisory Council.

Guide Fellows in the development of their final recommendations to community stakeholders ALICE @ Work

Conduct periodic coaching sessions with identified employees in WLA partnerships

Monitor program for certification requirements and those eligible for CEUs through SHRM

CASE MANAGEMENT CERTIFICATE PROGRAM (CMCP) (25%)

Oversee content on the CMCP landing page and work with marketing to make updates, as needed.

Manage enrollment process for the program, which includes, but is not limited to: ensuring the landing page is updated with relevant enrollment information, outreach is conducted to recruit participants, oversee and manage the online payment portal and track participant payments, notify participants if they are past due on a payment and manage a waiting list for the program.

Coordinate with training partner agencies to create a schedule with dates/times for any upcoming cohorts.

Act as a liaison between UWCM and training partner agencies, that includes ensuring an MOU is in-place each year with each agency, tracking and managing incoming invoices from training partner agencies and scheduling and facilitating a kick-off meeting with all training partners before each new cohort begins.

Maintain communication with program participants throughout the program for any questions, concerns, and clarifications.

Manage all calendar invites for courses and meetings as well as be responsible for all reminder emails and capstone announcements.

Manage the CMCP email account, as needed.

Oversee the planning of each cohort’s graduation (inviting the relevant speakers/guests, coordinating the ordering of ‘graduation box’ items, etc.)

Manage the process of the mid-year case study and final capstone exam grading; oversee the process to track incoming submissions and assigning those to graders.

Facilitate a monthly CMCP (internal) planning meeting.

Track the annual CMCP program workflow to ensure all activities are being conducted for the program on schedule.

Work closely with the MSW graduate intern who supports the program each academic year.

Proven administrative experience with community-based service programs to include public and private sectors

Proven interpersonal, leadership and networking skills

Strong program and project management planning skills

Capacity to work effectively with staff and volunteers

Excellent written and oral communication and proofreading skills

Ability to work within policies, procedures, and practices of United Way

INTERACTION:

Internal interactions with finance, grants, development, and other departments within UWCM to manage grant submission and reporting processes.

External interactions include diverse program participants, partners, community, nonprofit and corporate members.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of five years of demonstrable record of accomplishment of project management, collaborations and partnerships with nonprofits, businesses and government. Excellent written and oral communications, research and internet skills, solid analytical skills and is well-organized and able to set priorities, meet deadlines and work under pressure. The successful applicant will be able to navigate networking opportunities skillfully. Understanding of adult learning methodology is encouraged. The applicant will be time-sensitive, innovative, and creative.
