Under general administrative direction of the Senior Director of Facilities, this position provides leadership and direction to plan, manage, and oversee the budgets, activities and operations of the Facilities Department including MEP Systems, key management, operational planning, construction, renovation, repair and maintenance of buildings, facilities and grounds, snow removal and equipment, and project management including energy projects.Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Oversees the Building Maintenance Supervisor, the Chief Power Plant Engineer, and the Plumbing and Electrical Departments. Through these direct reports, the position, indirectly supervises approximately 50 unionized employees in custodial and trade services.Oversees and participates in preparation, development, and maintenance of contracts, drawings, plans, and specifications; reviews, evaluates, and selects vendors and contractors; negotiates and administers contracts; recommends payment of invoices based on progress related to operations and operational projects.Primary responsibility for continual assessment and maintenance of all building mechanical (MEP) systems.Continuously monitors and evaluates the efficiency and effectiveness of service delivery methods and procedures; conducts facility needs analyses; assesses and monitors work load, administrative and support systems, and internal reporting relationships; identifies opportunities for improvement; directs the implementation of changes.Manages and recommends upgrades as necessary to the facilities computerized work order system and the Building Management System (BMS).Manages contractors, vendors and third party suppliers.Conducts contract negotiations, productivity enhancements and efficiencies on daily operations work and annual contracts.Oversees the Facilities support associated with the execution of all internal and external events.Works closely with the department's Project Management team on various projects or assignments on campus.Manages and participates in the development and administration of the Facilities department budget; assesses and forecasts funding requirements for staffing, equipment, materials, and supplies; monitors approved planned expenditures.Manages Facilities-related emergency events on campus. Provides assessment, coordinates response, contracts and manages contractors for remediation and clean-up as needed.Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management or related field, plus a minimum of seven (7) years' experience OR minimum of ten (10) years' experience in a field of trade (i.e. HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing) and possess current Certification/Licensure within the trades.Must have excellent working knowledge of mechanical systems, including energy, management and controls, HVAC, biomedical safety, plumbing, electrical, and fire protection.6-10 years' experience at Director/leadership level required.Ability to be a visionary leader and drive change.Understands and works within all state procurement laws. Must have MCPPO Certification or take and pass the MCPPO tests within one year.Demonstrated experience overseeing financials, budgets etc.Physically capable of performing inspections of all areas within and around all buildings.Ability to organize, prioritize, supervise and direct while maintaining attention to detail.Must possess valid Driver's license.Flexible and solutions driven.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.Evenings and weekends as needed.Excellent knowledge of construction safety. OSHA Certification preferred.Excellent communicator with people at all levels.Knowledge of applicable laws, codes, regulations and standards governing construction and building maintenance.Must be able to manage multiple priorities, objectives and deadlines.Preferred Qualifications:

Higher Education Experience.Familiarity with Project Management Software.Experience with Energy and Sustainability related projects.CAD Experience.Demonstrated experience with collective bargaining units.Construction Supervisor's License.Additional Information:
