Kingsport and its surrounding communities are a wonderful place to call home. The new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) will join the Y with a strong and dedicated board and top-notch staff that have a true passion and energy for the work and the communities they serve.
As the next CEO you will continue to shape strategic growth and impactful programs that embody the YMCA's core values of youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. You will cultivate strong relationships with community partners and donors, expanding the YMCA's reach. The Greater Kingsport Family YMCA has a number of strategic partnerships that enhance the Y’s reputation and further its collective impact in the community. You will foster a collaborative environment where staff, volunteers, and members thrive all while making child safety a top priority, exceeding standards and creating a culture of care.

The YMCA offers a wide range of activities beyond weight training and cardio equipment. Here's a glimpse into what they provide:
Youth Development:
From after-school programs to the newly renovated middle school community outreach center, the YMCA prioritizes the well-being of young people. They provide a safe space for them to learn, grow, and socialize, while also offering parent workshops and family engagement events.
Healthy Living:
Group exercise classes, swimming at the Kingsport Aquatic Center—a strong partnership with the City of Kingsport, and health and fitness programs are just a few ways the YMCA helps Kingsport residents achieve their wellness goals.
Social Responsibility:
The YMCA goes beyond its walls with programs like the YMCA Y on Wheels, bringing their services to underserved areas, and their YMCA Feeding Program, which provides meals to children in Hawkins and Sullivan Counties.
The YMCA is more than just a place to get a workout; it's a community center where people of all walks of life can come together to learn, grow, and reach their full potential.
Criteria for Candidates:
Accredited 4-year college degree and or equivalent work experience.
Fiscally sound business management approach with a proven track record of budgetary and fiscal management more than $2.5M or more annually.
Minimum five years prior experience in a senior management role with a YMCA or related experience at a comparable organization with direct supervision of multiple levels of staff and employees.
