While you may not meet 100% of this job’s qualifications, if much of this job and qualifications describe you, then you are highly encouraged to apply.Position SummaryAs a member of CAPS' multidisciplinary team of mental health clinicians, CAPS Clinical Coordinators support the mental health needs of the student body through direct service with student clients and as consultants to other CAPS team members and to the greater campus community. CAPS Clinical Coordinators are largely 'on-call' during business hours to respond to and manage clinic matters and student mental health needs as they arise. They are instrumental in ensuring coordination of care for complex cases, thorough case management for student mental health needs that surpass CAPS's treatment model, responding to students in distress directly and through consultation to others, supporting referrals and linkage, direct outreach to students, supporting hospitalization procedures when appropriate, and serving as primary point of contact for certain clinical and student populations when assigned. CAPS Clinical Coordinators support other CAPS clinical teams in crisis management, case management, and linkage to appropriate campus and community resources. They work full time (40 hours) during CAPS business hours and maintain knowledge of community and campus referrals to ensure that clients are referred to appropriate resources and levels of care, monitoring to ensure linkage when indicated. This position offers hybrid work options for both in-person and remote work after probation and credentialing and privileging processes are complete. Employees will work fully in person until approved for hybrid work if desired.Salary & Compensation*UCLA provides a full pay range. (Preferred)Demonstrated knowledge of the university environment and of developmental issues of college-aged students including diverse and traditionally underserved populations. (Preferred)Demonstrated competence in trauma-informed, culturally competent, mental health service delivery. (Required)Demonstrated ability to conduct effective crisis intervention and de-escalation for the wide range of presenting issues, including potentially high acuity, high severity, and highly complex presentations. (Required)Demonstrated skills in effectively managing mental health emergencies, including crisis intervention and de-escalation. (Required)Demonstrated skills to intervene with suicidal, homicidal, and psychotic clients. (Required)Demonstrated advanced problem-solving and critical thinking skills, ability to work autonomously while applying good judgment for when consultation and assistance is needed. (Required)Working knowledge of legal and ethical issues pertaining to mental health treatment and service delivery. (Required)Working knowledge of cultural and ethnic factors affecting mental health service delivery. (Required)Knowledge of business software and specialized applications/systems (EMR) used in behavioral health settings.
