As an experienced CTR,you will perform quality reviews/control on completed abstracts for cancerreporting to the State to comply with a 97% or higher accuracy rate, complywith COC Quality Standards, and ensure quality data for research and other datarequests. You will act as aleadresource for abstracting and reportability of cases for other Cancer Registrystaff and help train new staff. You will perform periodic review and samplingof abstracts for required accuracy, with expectation of less than 3% errorrate, and review and manage the Cancer Surveillance Program correctionrequests.

Fully Remote Schedule:Monday - Friday; 8:00am - 5:00pm (PST)

Annual Salary Range:$76,200.00 - $158,800.00

QualificationsCTR certification required

Prefer 10+ years abstractingexperience

Have CoC and Tumor boardexperience

Experience using CNEXT, EPIC,and MS Office software (Constant)

Must meet productivitystandards and State quality standards

Detailed knowledge of theAmerican College of Surgeon standards, California Cancer Registry and SEERstandards.

Detailed knowledge of medicalterminology, anatomy, pathology, and disease processes.

Detailed knowledge of ICD-0coding classification scheme

Ability to abstract clinicalinformation from patient records and code data accurately into CancerRegistry database and follow-up if additional information is needed.

Excellent organizational skillsin maintaining Cancer Data files.

Skill in prioritizing andperforming a variety of duties within a system that has constantlychanging priorities, assignments, and deadlines.

Detailed knowledge of laws,rules and regulations affecting the confidentiality of medicalinformation.

Skill in working independentlyand following through on assignments in an environment with frequentinterruptions.

Skill in writing legibly and inusing basic English words to complete concise documentation.

Knowledge and understanding offunctions and activities of various hospital departments contacted forsource information to expeditiously coordinate follow up procedures.

Ability to work independentlyand exercise appropriate decisions in determining follow up actions andcomplete assignments in a timely manner.

Ability to judgesystem/procedure malfunction/discrepancies and circumstances to bereferred to supervisor for immediate action.

Strong oral and writtencommunication skills for the purposes of conveying information toindividuals at various organizational levels and the public and incompleting concise documentation.

Advanced MS Office skills
