The Department of History at Rutgers University-Camden invites applications for a tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level beginning in Fall 2024. A Ph.D. in history, American Studies, or a closely related field at the time of appointment is required. We seek a hire who will complement the department’s existing strengths: adding to our graduate Public History offerings; offering undergraduate Public History courses; contributing to our offerings in 20th-century US history post-1945.The position carries a 2-2 teaching load. We seek candidates with a strong publishing record, an active research agenda with the potential to secure external funding, and a commitment to effective teaching at the graduate and undergraduate levels.
