Continuous Improvement Director

Our client, a flexible poly manufacturing company is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Continuous Improvement Manager to join their team in Cincinnati, Ohio.The Continuous Improvement Manager will play a critical role in enhancing the overall efficiency and productivity of the facility. This position involves direct management of key supporting departments, including Maintenance, Shipping, Quality, and Human Resources.The ideal candidate will work closely with the Plant Manager to drive continuous improvement initiatives and optimize operational performance across the plant. A deep understanding of flexible poly packaging, specifically in wide web flexographic (flexo) printing, is essential for this role.Responsibilities:Leadership & Management:Directly manage and lead supporting departments including Maintenance, Shipping, Quality, and Human Resources.Coach and develop managers and staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.Work collaboratively with the Plant Manager to identify areas for improvement and implement effective solutions.Continuous Improvement Initiatives:Develop, implement, and monitor continuous improvement (CI) projects to enhance plant efficiency and reduce operational costs.Utilize Lean, Six Sigma, or other CI methodologies to identify process inefficiencies and implement solutions.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful execution of CI projects.Flexible Packaging Expertise:Leverage in-depth knowledge of flexible packaging, specifically in wide web flexo printing, to drive specialized CI initiatives.Identify and implement best practices specific to wide web flexo processes to improve quality, efficiency, and waste reduction.Stay updated on industry trends and innovations in flexible packaging to ensure the facility remains competitive.Performance Monitoring & Reporting:Provide weekly presentations and updates on the status of CI projects to the General Manager and other key stakeholders.Track and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of improvement initiatives.Recommend adjustments based on data analysis to ensure continuous progress towards plant efficiency goals.Interpersonal & Communication Skills:Maintain strong interpersonal relationships with managers, staff, and other key stakeholders to facilitate smooth communication and collaboration.Serve as a key point of contact for CI initiatives, effectively communicating goals, progress, and outcomes to all levels of the organization.Foster a culture of open communication and continuous learning within the facility.Qualifications:Proven experience in a Continuous Improvement role, preferably in a Flexo manufacturing environment.In-depth understanding of flexible packaging, with specific expertise in wide web flexo printing.Strong leadership and coaching skills with the ability to inspire and guide managers and staff.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to present ideas clearly and effectively.Proficiency in CI methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, or equivalent.Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make informed decisions to drive efficiency improvements.Strong project management skills with a track record of successful project execution.Reporting Structure:The Continuous Improvement Manager will report directly to the General ManagerLocation:
