THE ROLE:
Systems Engineers provide embedded, specialised, knowledge-based services to the Australian Government and industry clients of the Omni. Our Systems Engineers are provided to the client on a contractual basis and are responsible for the full execution of the Statement of Work agreed within that contract.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Collaborate and provide assistance to development/update of TEMP (at program and product levels) for LM&SP.
Assist and participate in the review and update JCNS relevant to LM&SP.
Assist and participate in architecture artefacts for all capability development activities.
Participate in Defence-wide network topology workshops with other Group representatives.
Manage traceability of capability needs against high level policy and guidance.
Provide support to the review and management of program OCD and FPS artefacts.
Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to develop relevant project recommendations to committees.
Assist the team to refine the LM&S Program information exchange requirements, network architectures, concept of employment, policies, doctrine, and procedures to ensure alignment with LM&SP OCDs and FPS.
Participate in review and validation of detailed system requirements and designs.
Deliver the agreed scope of work to the satisfaction of the client.
Monitor, manage and maintain positive client sentiment.
Manage time and resources to enable efficient completion of the required tasks.
Proactively promote the physical and mental health and safety of all team members.
Identify and evaluate business development opportunities and employment candidates.
Complete client and corporate administrative requirements in a timely manner.
QUALIFICATIONS AND TECHNICAL SKILLS
Essential Qualifications
A tertiary Systems Engineering qualification
Demonstrated Systems Engineering experience in complex technological environments
Experience with systems engineering and all stages of the engineering lifecycle
Experience working with large scale distributed communications systems
Demonstrated experience is supporting complex technological projects
Experience with Defence Capability Life Cycle and Processes
Experience in drafting and reviewing Operational Concept Documents and Functional Performance Specifications
Hold and maintain a AGSVA Negatively Vetted Security Clearance or higher
Competence in the Microsoft Office Suite of applications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and SharePoint
Desirable Qualifications and skills
Excellent interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated ability to maintain positive and effective stakeholder relationships at all levels
Experience in effective communication with technical staff across multiple disciplines
Strong verbal communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to influence, present, effectively negotiate, and lead and effect change
Strong written communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to produce clear and concise project documentation and technical reports
A minimum of 5 years of experience working in Commonwealth, State or Commercial environments
PERSONAL QUALITIES
