Medical Lab TechnicianWe are currently seeking an experienced, highly motivated Medical Lab Technician to work in our busy high complexity Urology lab. The individual must fully understand the PCR process and standard lab protocol.Responsibilities include :Perform Fluorescent In-Situ Hybridization (FISH) testing on urine samples while following the laboratory’s procedures for specimen handling and processing, test analyses, reporting and maintaining records of patient results.Analyze, Score and capture Images of Fluorescent in situ Hybridization slides (FISH) using automated fluorescent scanning systems and/or manual fluorescent microscopy.Image acquisition of UroVysion, Prostate, and GYN FISH assay slides manually and through Bioview automated FISH instrumentation.Prepared cytology specimen, fixed them, and stained and cover slipped the slides.Operated automated FISH laboratory instrumentation including troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair procedures as required.Accurately documented all testing activities including patient specimens, proficiency testing, quality control results, the performance of preventive maintenance/ calibration of instruments.Documented all corrective actions when systems deviate from the laboratory’s established performance specifications.Performs proficiency testing samples in the same manner as the patient specimens.Operated automated Cytology and FISH laboratory instrumentation including troubleshooting, maintenance and repair procedures as required.Prepared fixatives and other reagents including Phosphate Buffer Solution, different concentrations of alcohol, etc.Ensured accurate entry of patient information and requisition into Laboratory.Information Systems (LIS).Recorded and maintained accurate quality control of equipment in the lab.Maintains flexibility required to adapt to laboratory needs as related to testing and scheduling.Maintains and troubleshoots instruments as needed.Manage InventoryRequirements

Qualifications for Lab TechnicianBachelor’s degree in biological sciences (Biology, Chemistry, Life Sciences) or related area is required.ASCP certification preferred.Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skillsSense of ownership and integrity of their work.Demonstrated organizational skills; including but not limited to attention to detail and multitasking.Minimum of 2yrs experience in Clinical laboratory techniquesBenefits:Competitive PayPTOMedical, Dental, Vision401KPlus more
