Qualifications:
Associate's Degree required. Bachelor's degree is strongly preferred. Minimum of three years of post-secondary education and / or work experience in related fields preferred. Experience in a school or school system setting or Human Resources is required.
General Statement of Job:
To provide administrative support to the Executive Director of Human Resources and all employees in the System through HR and Benefits functions. The person in this position is responsible for processing information regarding the system to staff, potential employees and answering outside requests as needed.
Essential Functions:
Work independently without close supervision and plan, manager, and organize work efficiently to make informed decisions;Process a high volume and wide variety of data with accuracy;Demonstrate excellent human relations and written/verbal communication skills;Handle confidential information & maintain confidentiality;Provide pleasant service to a wide variety of people via both telephone, email, and in-person contacts;Possess excellent PC skills, including above-proficient skills in the areas of Microsoft office applications (Excel, Word,); experience in HRMS, LINQ, and Applicant Tracking is a plus;Superb ability to analyze data and determine a format for presentation so that others can understand it and use it for making decisions; andCompile and report a wide variety of information;Responsibilities:
Assist employees and applicants with in the following areas:
Applications, new hire, onboarding process;Provide information to potential applicants regarding application process/vacancies (via phone, email or in person);Maintain HR files;Forward copies of documentation, reports, etc. to the Finance Department as necessary (letters of resignation, reports, Leave of Absence forms, etc.);Process Worker's compensation and FMLA;Respond to numerous e-mails, phone calls, and personal visits from employees and applicants;Attend training and conferences, as assigned;Prepare materials for and schedule all recruiting activities, when required;Cross-train with other personnel in Human Resources;Maintain HR Pages of District Website;Obtain criminal background checks and Board of Education approval for all potential employees, E-Verify confirmation, etc.Verify credentials, licenses, letters of recommendation, prior employment records and obtain official documentation (transcripts) as required;Prepare contracts, with any special provisions as dictated, for newly employed teachers or administrators;Generate Personnel Report for monthly Board of Education meeting, ensuring initial employment; Leaves of Absence, etc. are included for Board action; andAssist in other tasks and areas as assigned.Physical Requirements:
Must be physically able to operate a variety of equipment including computers, audio-visual equipment, copiers, calculators, etc.Must be physically able to operate a motor vehicle.Must be able to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body.Light Work usually requires walking or standing to a significant degree.
