POSITION SUMMARY

The Security and Systems Administrator provides system support and security administration, focusing on the protection, efficiency, and usability of all company technology assets. This includes maintaining and improving current security products, implementing new security initiatives, providing system-level support, participating in requirements gathering and providing escalated user support. The role also involves general system administration, maintenance and troubleshooting across all corporate technology.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

IT SECURITY:Implement and administer security solutions to protect corporate data and systems.Monitor security systems (firewalls, intrusion detection, antivirus) to detect and respond to incidents.Lead technical incident response efforts in coordination with the Incident Response Team.Conduct security audits and assessments to identify vulnerabilities and ensure compliance.Maintain and update security infrastructure for optimal configuration and performance.Deliver security training to promote best practices among employees.Ensure compliance with industry regulations (HIPAA, NY DFS, etc.).Stay informed on security trends and threats to protect the organization proactively.IT SYSTEM SUPPORT:

Manage Windows OS and Server environments for optimal performance and reliability.Configure and maintain Cisco and FortiGate devices for secure network operations.Troubleshoot and resolve network issues to ensure stability and efficiency.Support and maintain Vertafore applications, ensuring smooth operation and user support.Administer Azure and Microsoft 365 environments for seamless cloud service integration.Manage user identities and access in Active Directory and Microsoft Entra.Provide escalated support for complex technical issues.Plan and execute system upgrades and patches to maintain security and stability.Train staff in system use and security best practices.Document system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.PROJECTS:

Support project and system releases across the agency.Collaborate with project managers and users to define and clarify project objectives.Define requirements for new technology implementations.SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position does not have supervisory responsibilities but is expected to mentor new team members and collaborate with team members when appropriate. Promptly inform supervisor of all matters that may give rise to an E&O claim.

COMPENSATION INFORMATION

At Flood and Peterson all full time employees are eligible for benefits, including Medical, Dental, Vision, and Life insurance, paid time off, paid holidays, and paid Volunteer Time Off. Full time employees are also eligible to participate in our excellent 401k program, which includes both safe harbor and discretionary matching. We also offer several other voluntary insurance programs including expanded Life, Disability, Accident, Critical Illness/Event, and legal services. In addition to regular pay, this position is eligible to participate in our annual performance incentive program.

Starting pay for exempt position is $80,000-$95,000/annually . Pay may exceed this range for well-qualified candidates, commensurate with experience.

Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Work Experience

Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university and four to six years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience in Microsoft 365 Security and Compliance Suite and Azure is preferred.

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. Ability to plan, implement, test, and troubleshoot information systems.
