SciTec has an immediate opportunity for a talented Linux System Administrator. Our ideal candidate will be responsible for helping to architect, as well as implement, administer and manage the various Linux technologies deployed across the organization.
Responsibilities
Installation and configuration of workstations and servers in accordance with a defined baselineTroubleshoot systems running RedHat Enterprise Linux 7/8Security, system hardening, system integrity, system backup, and continuous monitoring/auditingPatch / package management, third-party software installation and maintenanceManage VMware virtualization infrastructureServer installation and configurationTroubleshooting hardware and software issuesNetworking configuration in a mixed LinuxOther duties as assignedRequirements
A 4-year degree in Information Technology, Network Engineering, Computer Engineering, other relevant technical field, or equivalent experienceAbility to work with others in a constructive and collaborative mannerEnthusiastic, dynamic self-starter able to own issues to conclusionThe ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearanceThree to ten years of Linux admin experienceDetail orientedGood verbal and written communication skillsCandidates who have at least one/two years of ongoing professional experience in one or more of the following areas will be preferred
RedHat Enterprise Linux 8/9Dell switches, servers, or SANVMware vSphereExperience with Kubernetes (RedHat Openshift preferred)RHCSA / RHCESecurity+Network-attached storage (NAS) and/or Storage Area Network (SAN) configuration and maintenanceAutomation using shell / perl / python / powershellCI/CD or Gitlab RunnersConfiguration management using Ansible or similarDocker or Rootless Podman*Resumes, Cover Letters, and Applications which are generated by AI will not be considered for employment.

The pay range for this position is $100,000 - $140,000 / year. SciTec considers several factors when extending an offer of employment, including but not limited to the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, education/training, and key skills.
