Position Summary
The aims of the COE Office are to: characterize, monitor, and disseminate catchment area cancer burden, disparities, opportunities for improvement, and impact over time; conduct evidence-based education, outreach, and cancer interventions in alignment with community identified needs and priorities, and engage with academic research and practice programs to facilitate research that is responsive to our catchment's cancer-related needs and community-driven priorities.
Incumbent, under supervision from the Cancer Center Associate Director of Community Outreach and Engagement, will assist with oversight of operations. This includes oversight of grants and contracts, lead/participate in grant applications, and developing and maintaining collaborations within LSUHSC and across the state. Incumbent will assist the Director in all program components services, tracking and follow-up, quality assurance, partnerships and coalitions, professional education, and evaluation.
The incumbent will oversee hiring and supervising office program staff. Oversee operations including: data collection, processing, and management; supervise day-to-day work of staff and maintain general oversight of contracts and subcontracts. Respond to request from LSUHSC offices including the School of Public Health administration, Cancer Center, Human Resources, Finance, etc. The incumbent will lead planning for professional development of internal staff and external partner agency staff.

We help communities build capacity to address the cancer burden locally, increase understanding of cancer research, and assist researchers in engaging community in order that community can play an integral part in the development, implementation, and dissemination of research that will ultimately benefit Louisiana.
