Director of Manufacturing: Blinds, Shades and ShuttersA bespoke, Florida-based manufacturer of blinds shades and shutters with a 6-decade+ track record of success is looking for a Director of Manufacturing to join us at our plant in Tallahassee!What You’ll Do:Act as our ideal change agent! Lead a large team of talented and hard-working manufacturers, spearheading our journey into the next era by modernizing systems and tweaking + building processes for efficiency– all while keeping our core values of community, positivity, and humble leadership!What You’ll Get:Generous Compensation:

7:30am-5pm, M-F.Oversee manufacturing processes of blinds, shades and shutters, including but not limited to sanding, painting, PVC work, woodworking, and machine and hand assembly.Provide strategic leadership to our 3 manufacturing managers, overseeing an overall team of 20-40 individuals.With a careful focus on manufacturing, you’ll interface with sales and marketing leadership as well as the purchasing team.Gain and apply insights into purchasing and logistics data via SAP.Interface with finance on P&L’s.Work to streamline processes, providing strategic feedback and implementing innovative tooling to expedite products out of our hands and into the hands of our shipping partners.Define creative, low-cost solutions to cut down on lead times for our end users.Define and implement best practices for improvement on ETA’s given to end users and business partners.Travel 1-2 times per year to our other distribution centers. (No expectation of travel in year 1.)Modernize us! Create a welcome amount of polite, necessary disruption.Contribute to efficiency of labor by identifying redundancies and making strategic recommendations and implementing new processes when-needed based on data patterns and realtime observations.What You Bring:Our ideal candidate has 6+ years of experience in blind/shades/shutter manufacturing or a similar industry. Focus on wood or PVC products.You thrive on efficient logistics, with a love for processes, tooling, and systems!Experience with SAP or a similar ERP system is required.You have experience and comfortability reporting to and consistently interfacing with C-Suite individuals.You have 4+ years of experience leading a team.Ideal candidates have previously led a team of 20+ individuals.You’ve led a team of people managers before.HR soft-skills come easily for you and are second-nature.You put others first and lead with humility and empathy– but also efficiency– keeping things goal-minded while also people-oriented.You’ve hit the niche tripwire before and know how to actively solve the problems.Experience in industrial engineering is a plus, while plant leadership is required.Ability to interface with a hands-on distribution team with ease.Not afraid to get into the hands-on work yourself on occasion or when needed.Keen process development and innovation skills.Eye for and proven track record with quality and efficiency.Previous management of a quality assurance team.Knowledge of applicable regulations per D.C. and processes to maintain them.Does this role sound like it was crafted for you?
