Los Angeles, CaliforniaThe USC Department of Surgery is recruiting a Staff Perfusionist III. The Staff Perfusionist III will provide all aspects of extracorporeal cardiopulmonary support for adult and pediatric patients, operate extracorporeal circulation equipment during any medical situation necessary to support or replace a patient's own cardiopulmonary and circulatory functions, and induce and reverse hypothermia and hyperthermia. The Staff Perfusionist III will also write, collect, and maintain documentation for each case and ensure maintenance of all equipment and quality control.The hourly rate range for this position is $79.15 - $92.00. Minimum Education: Specialized/technical trainingMinimum Experience: 7 years, Combined education/experience as substitute for minimum experienceMinimum Field of Expertise: Seven years' experience as an adult perfusionist. Graduate from a school of perfusion technology accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP), or its predecessor, the American Medical Association's (AMA) Committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation (CAHEA).Certification: Certified Clinical Perfusionist (CCP) certification, or board eligible for certification by the American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion (ABCP). Attends and completes all hospital-required safety training courses, and maintains ABCP certification, as well as certifications for cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), basic life support (BLS), and/or basic cardio life support (BCLS).Skills: Demonstrated attention to detail, and excellent interpersonal, analytical, problem-solving, and oral and written communication skills.REQ20117325
