Come see for yourself!Under direct supervision of the General Diagnostic Manager and Medical Director the Radiologic Technologist (RT) will produce diagnostic images utilizing a variety of radiographic equipment. Fix radiographic, fluoroscopic and mobile equipment following prescribed protocols and procedures. As the RT, you will competently perform radiographic procedures on neonates, infants, children, adults and geriatric patients. Complete all studies in a timely and efficient manner and produce film images utilizing Digital Radiography, image processors and process as prescribed standards.Duties include but are not limited to:Assist in performing sterile technique procedures as requiredAssist Radiologist as neededFollow established quality assurance proceduresMaintain patient dignity and confidentialityPatient education prior to the examinationPreparation of needed supplies and equipment set upThe RT is expected to support UCLA healthcare radiology locations in the centralregion.
Radiologic Technologists need to possess the skills, knowledge and abilities essential to the successful performance of duties assigned to the position; graduate of a Radiologic Technology Training Program approved by the American Medical Association or equivalent training, maintaining current CRT, CRT - Fluoro and ARRT licensure.*Position may convert to career*Salary: $46.21 - $56.32 HourlyQualifications
ARRT certification - requiredCRT license - requiredFluoroscopic permit - requiredBCLS certificate from American Heart Association or American Red Cross- requiredJCERT approved Radiologic Technologist Program graduateAbility to adapt to advancement and changing technologyAbility to identify and recognize contraindications for exams. (Radiology Only)Ability to respond efficiently to expressed needs of referring services, physicians and patientsDemonstrate knowledge of clinical billing (IDX codes) to ensure appropriate accounting and reimbursement of services renderedKnowledge of medical terminology, with ability to distinguish between types of procedures within the assigned department(s) and medical diagnosesSkill in employing independent decision making while performing various job functionsTelephone manners and skills to handle heavy telephone lines with courtesy and tactUnderstand the requirements of the EMTALA (Emergency Medical Treatment and Active Labor Act)
