Our spacecraft enable the future of society: ranging from earth observation to communications and more.We’d love for you to join us on our mission of providing humankind access to the galaxy beyond our planet.Apex is looking for an attorney to join our fast-paced dynamic company as Corporate Counsel. Reporting to the Head of Operations, the Corporate Counsel will provide legal counsel across Apex and play a critical role in our success.This position will tackle a variety of day-to-day legal needs, including commercial and government sales contracts, regulatory compliance, IP protection, and complex transaction management as Apex continues its exciting growth trajectory.Responsibilities:

Represent and advise the company on high-complexity/high-impact engagements with governmental, regulatory and commercial counterparties.Draft, negotiate, and review commercial and government sales contracts, NDAs, and other legal documents.Ensure compliance with all of Apex’s contractual obligations and applicable regulatory requirements, including but not limited to U.S. export controls.Develop and implement scalable processes and systems within the legal and compliance function, including a contract management system and legal review framework.Draft and implement strategic and operational risk management policies and procedures.Support the protection of the company’s intellectual property.Retain, direct and review the work of outside counsel, as necessary.Grow to serve Apex as the industry expert and resource across the organization.Other duties and special projects as assigned.Requirements:

U.S. Persons status is required as this position needs to access export-controlled information.Juris Doctorate from an ABA-Accredited law school, and an active member in good standing of a state bar. If not already a member of the State Bar of California, the successful candidate must be eligible to register with the State Bar of California as Registered In-House Counsel.At least 3+ years corporate law experience at a major law firm and/or as an in-house legal counsel.Aerospace or defense industry experience is a plus.Government contracting experience and familiarity with FAR is a plus.EAR, ITAR, and other regulatory and governance experience is a plus.Salary Range: $110,000 - $140,000The stated compensation range reflects only the targeted base salary range and excludes additional benefits.
