The bank is seeking a
Senior Risk Analyst
who will be
responsible for building out credit research and analysis within Liquidity Product Management , providing fundamental credit research and financial analysis of SVB counterparties, offering recommendations regarding risk, evaluating new counterparties, and recommending actions related to existing counterparties.
Education Level
Bachelor’s Degree
or ( HS
or GED with 4 additional years of relevant experience)
Work Experience
3-7 years of relevant credit research experience
in investment management, rating agency, or debt capital markets/leverage finance
Duties/Responsibilities
Build out counterparty-specific coverage, including ongoing monitoring of existing exposures and risks.
Communicate views orally and in writing to the product and risk leadership teams in a timely fashion.
Develop financial models and relative value analysis.
Lead due diligence of counterparty opportunities including researching financial institutions, and reviewing key factors including financial performance, competitive position, etc.
Maintain productive relationships with senior management and key external contacts for our counterparties to help inform decisions.
Perform fundamental corporate credit research and financial analysis of business-critical counterparties.
Prepare sector overviews, company reports, and quarterly earnings reviews.
Provide insights and support to drive ad-hoc projects.
Preferred Qualifications
7+ years of experience of relevant credit research experience in investment management, rating agencies, or debt capital markets/leverage finance
Passionate about markets, research, and investing
Possess a growth mindset and be a team player who can adapt to change
MBA, CTP, or CFA is a plus
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
Ability to prioritize multiple projects, improve processes, and work collaboratively with research analysts, product managers, financial risk management teams, and other key stakeholders
Effective communicator who can organize, interpret, and summarize information succinctly
Proficiency with Excel and Bloomberg. Knowledge of Python, SQL, and other programming languages is preferred
Strong analytical and financial modeling skills with keen attention to detail.
