The Zalik Foundation is an Atlanta-based foundation that works toward its mission to create knowledgeable Jews, ensure children and seniors live with promise and dignity, empower women and girls, promote entrepreneurship, and ensure for a sovereign and thriving Israel.

We are seeking an entrepreneurial, visionary, organized individual with strong business acumen to join our team as the inaugural Executive Director of The Dupree Conference and Education Center (the “DCEC”). The DCEC is part of an office building that will serve as a vibrant hub of Jewish life and activity in the Atlanta suburb of Sandy Springs. Visitors and Jewish non-profit tenants will find Jewish community, learning, connection, and collaboration through curated spaces for meetings and events, Jewish learning, and a future on-site kosher café.

Reporting initially to the Zalik Foundation Executive Director, the DCEC's Executive Director will oversee all aspects of the DCEC's vision, business operations, administration, and programming. Responsibilities include co-creating and implementing a vision and strategy, leading daily operations, managing finances, human resources, IT, facilities, security, communications/marketing, and special projects. The DCEC's Executive Director will be responsible for engaging with community stakeholders, securing funding, and ensuring effective delivery of events and Jewish education programs. An advisory group and a future board will collaborate with the Executive Director to set annual goals and benchmarks for this role.

The position includes evening and weekend hours and offers an exciting opportunity for a self-starter eager to launch a new hub for Jewish life and education in metro Atlanta.

Duties & Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Vision and Strategy

Partner with the Dupree advisory group to craft an exciting vision for the DCEC and its educational programs and set strategy to implement the vision.

Represent the DCEC in Atlanta’s Jewish community and with relevant national organizations.

Operations Management

Manage daily operations of the DCEC, including record-keeping, implementing procedures and policies, and procuring and using technology and databases to support operations.

Schedule and meticulously plan advanced logistics for a high volume of events. Resolve conflicts between competing requests with facility use policies.

Continuously work to improve logistics, decrease turnaround times, streamline processes, and work cooperatively to create an exceptional customer experience.

Marketing and Communications

Develop marketing and registration plan for educational programs, including developing proprietary marketing lists and creating partnerships for cross-promotion.

Supervise marketing staff/contractors, oversee creation of website and marketing materials.

Implement and revise communications policies, ensuring adherence by to community standards by all users of the DCEC.

Personnel

Hire, train, and supervise administrative and facilities personnel.

Contract with and oversee outside contracted personnel, including security.

Develop and implement, in concert with advisory group, personnel policies and procedures

Financial Management

Develop annual operating budget and analyze monthly budget reports and financial projections.

Seek opportunities to optimize resources and secure program funding, including pursuing revenue sources through fundraising and grants, as requested by the Dupree advisory group.

Supervise the negotiation and preparation of contracts for the DCEC's rentals, vendors and contract employees.

Oversee preparation of invoices, ensuring rentals are properly billed, and timely payments are made.

Monitor insurance policies and recommend changes as needed.

Information Technology and Facilities

Oversee information technology and audiovisual needs, including software and hardware to support the DCEC's eventsand educational programming.

Manage the DCEC's security, maintenance, cleanliness, and repair needs.

Hire or contract with security personnel as needed and serve as the DCEC's liaison to local law enforcement entities.

Qualifications:

Relevant experience operating a conference/event facility or organization focused on adult education.

Understanding and respect for Jewish tradition, religious practices and the Jewish calendar.

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.

8+ years of full-time management experience including communicating vision, employee supervision, budget oversight, and experience working with a board of directors or advisors.

Professional qualities and technical skills:

Reliability, responsiveness, excellent follow through, efficiency, timeliness, and attention to detail.

Organized self-starter able to work independently as well as within a team.

Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple projects simultaneously.

Interpersonal skills with strong emotional intelligence.

Professional or volunteer experience in the Jewish community is a plus.

Salary Range:

$90,000 - $125,000

Benefits:

Full-time employees receive a complete benefits package with medical, dental, and vision insurance; paid time off; select Jewish and Federal holiday closures; a 401K plan with an employer contribution; and charitable contributions on behalf of employees. Up to half off tuition to any participating, eligible Jewish day school in Atlanta.
