.About the Career CenterThe Career Center reports jointly to the Office of Undergraduate Education (OUE) and the Office of Graduate and Postdoctoral Education (GPE). The Center includes the Career Operations Team, which includes event planning, administrative support, and IT; the Undergraduate Career Education Team, which provides resources to undergraduate students to support their searches for full-time employment after graduation, such as help with the exploration, selection, and pursuit of meaningful careers; career counseling; resume writing interview tips, etc. and the Employer Connections team, which leads the effort to grow and maintain the elite brand and the diverse set of employers engaging the Georgia Tech campus. The center also shares responsibility (dotted line reporting) with and provides operational support to the Undergraduate cooperative education (Co-op) and Internship programs (with the Office of Experiential and Engaged Learning) and the Graduate Career Services and Internship Programs (with Graduate and Postdoctoral Education).Associate Director of Career EducationThe Associate Director of Career Education provides centralized support and oversight of career education initiatives that benefit all students from all colleges and areas of study. This position will develop and scale strategic opportunities and programs to empower all students to enhance their career and professional development, identify career paths, and secure internships with the goal of finding career success upon graduation. This position oversees the Undergraduate Career Development Advisor Team and manages large- scale programming to benefit Georgia Tech students of all class levels and areas of study. The position reports to the Director of Undergraduate Career Education within the Office of Undergraduate Education while collaborating and maintaining regular communication with the Director of Graduate Career Development. The Associate Director will actively engage the Graduate Career Development team, the Undergraduate Career Education team, the Office of the Vice Provost for Graduate and Postdoctoral Education (GPE), and the Office of Undergraduate Education (OUE).Other VariablesNote on Working TimeThis position must be available to work standard GT business hours M-F, 8-5 (or 7-4 or 9-6), as well as some evenings as weekends based on student programs and with advanced notice. The first 3-6 months of employment are fully in-person/on site. Following this, some telecommuting will be available in accordance with OUE's guidelines. Job Summary

Provide strategic direction and operational oversight to advance Career Education initiatives within the organization. Reporting to director-level leadership, this position collaborates closely with senior management to develop and implement comprehensive career education strategies aligned with organizational objectives. Lead a team of professionals, providing mentorship, guidance, and support to enhance cross-college programming, resources, and advising services. Key responsibilities include overseeing the development and execution of various student programs and resources, fostering stakeholder relationships, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

Job Duty 1 -Coordinate with leadership to lead signature events to scale career education efforts for undergraduate and graduate students

Job Duty 2 -Oversee the development and implementation of various student programs and resources

Job Duty 3 -Actively collaborate with internal stakeholders on broader career education programming, initiatives, and trainings

Job Duty 4 -Supervise, lead, and mentor staff who provide cross-college programming, resources, and advising. Hire, train, and equip new staff as needed

Job Duty 5 -Oversee student liaison activities designed to engage the full spectrum of students

Job Duty 6 -Oversee various programs including hiring, training career advising and delivery of career programs

Job Duty 7 -Responsible for collecting, synthesizing, and reporting student engagement and assessment data

Job Duty 8 -Creates asynchronous, online, and other content for resources to support students in identifying career opportunities, co-op, internships, and post-graduation career opportunities

Job Duty 9 -Perform other job-related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

Educational RequirementsBachelor's Degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Required ExperienceFive to seven years of job-related experience. The ideal candidate should have four to six years of relevant work experience

Job Grade: A10Salary Range: $72,783 - $85,885Salary will be commensurate with experience and education.Due to the responsibilities of this position, this role requires an onsite presence on Georgia Tech's Atlanta campus (100%).Location: Atlanta, GA

In coordination with the Director of Undergraduate Career Education and the Director of Graduate Career Development, cultivate and activate a robust career ecosystem serving students from all colleges and degree programs.Oversee the development and implementation of various student programs and resources, including Resume Review and Mock Interview signature events with employers, Diversity First Career Mixer, Jacket Job Ready Challenge, and Career Research Innovation Development Conference (CRIDC).Actively collaborate with all Career Center staff on broader career education programming, initiatives, and trainings.Supervise, lead, and mentor Undergraduate Career Development Advisors who provide cross-college programming, resources, and advising; hire, train, and equip new staff as needed.Oversee Career Center student liaison activities designed to engage the full spectrum of students. Build collaborative working relationships with affinity and identity-based offices, student organizations, and engage students with identity-based career development/job needs.Oversee Career Peers including hiring, training, career advising, and delivery of career programs.Responsible for collecting, synthesizing, and reporting student engagement and assessment data.Creates asynchronous, online, and other content to support students in identifying career opportunities, co-op, internships, and post-graduation career opportunities.Perform other related duties as assigned.
